Post 7 interesting things about yourself

Seven interesting things about me!

1) In 2004, the eleventh president of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, visited a prominent school in Dubai, gave inspiring speeches and interacted with the students of that school plus selected students from all other schools in the whole of UAE. From my school in Abu Dhabi, only 20 students were selected. 10 boys and 10 girls. These students were selected on the basis of their academic excellence and overall good behavior. I am proud to say that I was one of those 10 selected girls!

2) I have a repeated dream. It keeps coming to me and I have no idea why. I am walking through a park and I find coins (Dirhams – the local currency of UAE) lying around in the grass. I pick them up and keep discovering more!.

3) I am extremely bad at Maths!. I need a calculator ALWAYS. Sometimes I think I am like Joey from Friends!

4) I am a big time foodie. I love trying all kinds of food, whatever cuisines it maybe. But I strictly don’t like sushi, shark and liver.

5) I have no dress sense at all. I suck at it :(. I feel real bad about it. But well, some things just can’t be developed I guess or I need professional help…

See, even Tom & Jerry don’t know what to wear when!

6) I am afraid of hospitals/doctors. I have never been admitted there or anything. But the thought of waiting for the doctor, in a room full of patients with God-knows-what-kind-of-diseases, makes me utterly sick. Hospital is synonymous with being unhealthy and also deaths. By the time I get out of a hospital, I feel more sick actually!. Doctors do good. I have nothing against them (Infact my cousin is a doctor and I am so proud of him!) but hospitals.. *ughhh*…

11601167-funny-cartoon-doctor7) I have had the same set of friends since my childhood!. One of my two best friends is the one I have known since I was 10 years old. The other one is someone I know since 2004 (Both of them were also selected to meet the President from our school!. I have such brilliant friends :)). I don’t make new friends now a days in real life. But of late, I have made many new friends from all over the world, via cyber space thanks to blogging. That’s why I love blogging!!

I have only four nominations:

1) Dubai Confidential is a UAE based site hosted by 5 people. Their posts feature things in Dubai which you would never find out otherwise. They are too good and their posts are very inspirational.I absolutely love them!!

2) Praseena of Coral Crue is very inspiring because she is a strong person and I highly respect her for that. She had to face some tough times recently but she faced them bravely. I love her posts too. She has a variety of posts up of her site!

3) Christina of Ensconced in YA is very inspiring because she is a writer and her love for books is something that I share too. You can read her three fantastic creations by clicking here. My favorite story is The Perfect Day. All stories require less than 5 minutes to read. So do check them out!

4) Theresa McClinton is one of my favorite authors and I find her truly inspiring. She stays in touch with her fans/friends via Facebook/Twitter even though she has a really busy life with three children and has the most fantastic imagination EVER. I know that she has been awarded this award already by someone else but that doesn’t stop me from doing it again!

I hope you guys liked reading this post. Let me know in the comments below :). Once again, Lottie, thank you so much!!

  1. Hi Naz, Congratulations. I am so happy for you and you deserve every bit of the nomination 🙂
Wow, you got to meet such a great personality!! how nice, it must have been so humbling. He’s really great.
I like your dream, I think you are going to win/make a fortune very soon, those dreams are real 🙂
Inch pinch, I am so poor at Math too. I feel like hiding when it comes to calculating stuff. I wish I could improve though. I keep going on youtube and trying out simple arithmetic lessons. they help but i keep forgetting to go and do more 😛
I tried Sushi once at dubai mall, the avocado and smoked salmon one, i liked those, they didn’t taste raw.
I know what you mean by hospitals….pray you dont’ ever have to visit them.
And thank you for the nomination. I feel extremely honoured to be chosen by you 🙂 You are too kind.
Btw I recently discovered Dubai Confidential, it’s such an amazing blog. I wish i were a part of it. it’s that cool!!!
ANd yeah, i absolutely loved reading this post for how much more it revealed about you. things just keep getting better, aye 🙂 tc <3

    • also, my strength lies in the prayers and mails and comfort offered by you. thank you so much, Naz for mailing me and cheering me up during my toughest times (hugs)

    • What a thoughtful and beautiful comment!. Thank you so much, Praseena for your love and support. Yes, I was thrilled when I got selected to meet Dr APJ. Maths is a subject I left in 10th. Maybe that’s why I suck at it!. I hope your words come true and I win a fortune ♡. I am happy for you that you enjoyed Sushi. I tried a tasting platter of different kinds of Sushi and Sashimi and nothing worked for me, unfortunately. Hey, you love Dubai Confidential too. Cool!

  2. I love finding out things about you and I love the way your write. There is something about it that draws one in and captures one’s attention. Don’t stop doing what you are doing 🙂 I wish I could meet you one day.

    • Oh Deena!. You are just so sweet. Thank you so much!. Comments like that encourage me more and more. I really wish I could meet you too one day. Probably that day you can teach me a thing or two about dress sense!

  3. It is so nice that you have received this award! I can’t believe you had the privilege of meeting the president! You obviously were a well-rounded student to be bestowed that honor!

I can totally relate to your fear of hospitals and what they represent. As I’ve told you in the past, healthcare in Belize is counterproductive. A couple months ago, twelve newborns died. Apparently, the hospital was not practicing basic sanitation practices and some bacteria was thriving there! If I am not mistaken, it is still around. How scary is that?!

And like you, blogging has certainly helped me foster some great friendships with people all over the world, including you!

Congrats to the new nominations as well!

  4. Hey Naznin,

A Big Congrags on your success…..I pray you get even more…
I enjoyed reading the 7 facts about you…Having the same friends from childhood is really beautiful….I know how it feels…We just become children again when we are together….Missing my friends now 🙁
    Anyways…good luck… <3 <3

  5. Congrat on your award!! It is well deserved. I have only been following you for less than a month and have found your blog truly inspiring. I really enjoyed reading your 7 facts. What an honor to have met your President. 🙂
We have much in common with the math, food and dressing issuers. Perhaps that is why I enjoy reading your blog so.
Looking forward to learning more from you.
Keep up the excellent work and best wishes on your dreams 8)

    • Hello, Michelle ♡. Welcome to my blog and it’s encouraging to hear that you find my posts are inspiring. We have similar interests!. Yayy :). Hopefully my dreams would come true…

  6. Thank you for writing an acceptance post ^_^ It seems like a certain dream really likes you! I would love to have it– a world filled to the brim with coins? Count me in! I’m also quite bad at anything that has to do with math. I can read words just fine but when it comes to numbers, my brain shuts down.

And you friends sounds very lovely 🙂

Many times I dream of meeting him… 🙂
I am bad in maths too but not foody that why my mom gets angry…as I am very thin.. 🙁
It’s not me, I wanted to have a little more weight but I don’t know why? I love eating dishes with paneer, chocolate cakes, pizza, chat dishes with potatoes but not very time, it give me stomach-ache. Again don’t know why?…
You know it really help that Tom & Jerry are like us with no dressing sense… hahaha :D…..
Friendship is beautiful… 🙂 it really feels great to have someone who understands you & love you..
