Four Tips to Caring for Your Teeth!

Taking care of your teeth is the key to good dental health. When you get used to this daily routine, you will never be afraid of getting close to people in social events due to bad breath.

Swollen and bleeding gums will also be a thing of the past. As a matter of fact, it’s easier than you can ever imagine. Other than boosting self esteem, good oral hygiene will save you from incurring medical bills when you visit the dentist. You only need to follow the tips outlined below.

1. Brush Your Teeth Two Times Everyday

Brush teeth

Your teeth can never be in good health if you don’t brush them. You should actually brush them early in the morning and in the evening. This is not one of those things that you can afford to skip. This is because it only takes about 10 hours for bacteria and germs to build up in the teeth and gums. In fact, failing to brush your teeth for just a few days in a week is enough to earn you a tough stain.

Dirty teeth can really steal your fun moments when you are hanging out with friends. This is due to the fact that you can not laugh out loud without being ashamed of your stained teeth. The good news is that there are so many teeth whitening agents that are available at pearlywhites.com at affordable prices. It’s recommended that you brush your teeth in circles to ensure you reach all the areas of any tooth.

2. Use Fluoride

You should never use any toothpaste that doesn’t contain fluoride as an active ingredient. The mineral is also present in water and its purpose is to defend your teeth against bacteria and cavities by forming a thick layer on the outside. If the enamel of your teeth weakens, it becomes easier for bacteria to penetrate into the core of the teeth. Such a case eventually causes your teeth to decay. Since mouth washes are also rich in fluoride, they can be used to counter cavities and bacteria at their initial stages.

3. Floss Regularly

Flossing should also be done on a regular basis. This is because brushing alone is not enough to flush out the harmful bacteria that are in your teeth. Just so you may know, each tooth has 5 sides. The upper side that is used for crushing food, the inner side, the outer side that’s seen when you smile and the two spaces that separates one tooth from the other.

The brush can only clean the first three surfaces and that’s why you must floss to remove the dirt that’s in between the teeth.

4. Clean the Tongue

Most people ignore the tongue when cleaning their teeth. They think that it cleans itself automatically, thanks to the saliva that never dries up. That’s not true because the tongue can be as dirty as your teeth. Harmful bacteria can actually stick on the tongue for the longest period of time as possible.

Oral care

There are two ways of cleaning the tongue. The first option requires you to apply some paste on the tooth brush and run it back and forth. The other option is similar to flossing because you only need to run a string along the tongue, from the back to the tip at the front.

Guest Post – Thank Your Skin with Hyaluronic Acid!

If you have been applying layers of powder just to correct your skin’s excess shine, you’re committing a serious mistake. You see, applying powder won’t just make you look cakey, but it can also cause closed comedones (read: acne) and zits. And that’s the last thing you want to happen, right?

Listen, if you want to get a more even and radiant finish, your makeup products aren’t the only things you have to be concerned about. Prepping your skin matters, too. And to tell you the truth, a properly prepped skin can make a huge difference in the coverage and longevity of your makeup.

Now, you’re probably wondering: How do I prep my skin?. One of the best things you can do is exfoliate your skin. Getting rid of dead skin cells can make your skin more even, allowing you to apply your makeup easier.

Another tip is to make sure your skin is moisturized. Look for ingredients that have hyaluronic acid as it has a really potent hydrating property. It can provide a long-lasting moisture so your skin stays plump and smooth even after you apply your makeup.

And you know what else?. Hyaluronic acid isn’t just great for moisturizing the skin. It also has the ability to fight signs of skin aging. By locking in moisture, it can prevent the skin from sagging. It can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so you won’t have to layer too much foundation on your skin just to hide them.

With its ability to strengthen the skin’s barrier, regular use of skin care products with hyaluronic acid can increase your skin’s protection against UV rays, too. With so many benefits, this is one of the best ingredients you can use on your skin.

Still not convinced?

Here’s an infographic about hyaluronic acid you might want to check out :

Three Tips to Using Oils to Stay Healthy!

Are you looking for natural ways to keep healthy?. Essentials oils may be the answer you are looking for. When people think of oils, they probably think that it is only limited to aromatherapy. Most people know that oils are placed in an aromatic diffuser so that the house can smell good. But aromatherapy can also have benefits such as mood enhancing and energy boosting depending on the oil that you will use.

But now, research has discovered that oils can be used for a variety of purposes, one of which is to improve the health of individuals. Check out some of the tips below that you can do in order to be healthy through the use of oils.

1. Use them to fight colds and flu – When the fall and winter months come, there’s no denying that some of our family members might fall sick. When that happens and you are adverse to them taking medicines, you may try the natural method and use oils instead. There are so many oils that you can choose to that job. One of those can be peppermint oil, which can relieve chest congestion and even soothe headaches and fever. Other than the peppermint oil, you can also choose lemon essential oil, which is a very effective decongestant. German chamomile can also relieve muscle aches and pains brought about by the flu. Aside from the ones mentioned above, there are so much more oils that you can use. Just do your research to find out what oils you can use and choose one that you are most comfortable with.

2. Use them to get a good night’s rest – Aside from exercise and having a good diet, one of the things that our bodies need in order to be healthy is ample rest. When you don’t get enough sleep or you suffer from chronic sleep deprivation, your body is more at risk to suffer from many diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. When you lack sleep, there is also an increase of cortisol in your body, which is the stress hormone. If you’re having difficulty getting enough sleep, try putting lavender, chamomile or jasmine oil on a cloth and then place that next to your pillow. As you breathe aroma, it will help you have a more relaxed and peaceful sleep.

3. Use them to treat skin rashes and the like – Oils are a great natural remedy that can be used for skin ailments such as rashes or even psoriasis. If your skin itches, it may be due to reasons such as eczema, hives or dry skin. Soothe your skin by applying oils like chamomile. You can even use this for itchy scalp if you are suffering from it. If you want something that you can use as a moisturizer, Good oil hemp is an answer to that. Hempseed oil is perfect as a moisturizer because it has a high content of omega 3. It can help the skin retain hydration and is also used to treat dry hair.

Four Beauty Procedures You May Not Know Exist!

There are many ways that people ensure that they look their best at all times. Whether it be getting their hair done regularly, having their eyebrows waxed, or getting their nails painted, the beauty industry is a booming business regardless of what area of the world you live in. In fact, every culture has a set of beauty standards that the people adhere to. This article is more than about just getting some work done on your skin as we will discuss some beauty procedures that you may not know exist!

1. Dental therapy. Have you ever heard of someone being petrified of going to the dentist?. In a dental therapy office, there are a variety of services that are offered. From massages to reflexology, the idea is to welcome you into a space that you may not find intimidating with the overall goal of getting you in to the dentist chair by offering massages or other relaxing mechanisms to help you reduce anxiety and be able to have your teeth cleaned without a problem.

Reflexology

It may sound strange to you, but dental hygiene is critical for one’s overall well-being and if it takes having a massage or reflexology session to accomplish it, then so be it.

2. Cryotherapy. This procedure has been utilized by athletes for years as it helps to decrease pain and aches in sore muscles. Based on new research, cryotherapy has been used for the past few years to help people overcome problems with eczema, psoriasis, insomnia, and even weight loss. The procedure requires you to stand in a frigidly cold tank for a few minutes. So cold that you will be standing in sub-zero temperature for a few moments. Celebrities swear by the procedure and many have boasted about being able to burn up to 600 calories in a matter of a few minutes. If you can withstand the frigid temps for a few moments to help burn calories and relieve some skin problems, cryotherapy is one to try.

3. Anal bleaching. Celebrities such as the Kardashian’s have made this beauty procedure quite popular as of late. It may sound like an odd procedure but it can actually be done at home and quite quickly. People have an obsession with making their body look perfect. In some parts of the world, having a lightly colored rear is highly coveted and therefore people choose to partake in anal bleaching. If you don’t want to go to a local dermatologist or having a microdermabrasion treatment to lighten your derriere, then purchasing an at home DIY kit is the way to go.

4. Mesotherapy. This therapy process is simply the injection of a cocktail of vitamins, amino acids, and medications specifically formulated for your age and skin. The combination of these together helps plump up your skin and hydrates the tissue. The results are astounding and help to decrease signs of aging, remove sun spots, and brighten your complexion.

These beauty procedures may sound unique to you, but there are many people that swear by them. While beauty is certainly subjective and is measured by the eye of the beholder, there is no one-size-fits-all beauty routine which is why the industry is so inclusive of all interest areas.

Review : Dermal Collagen Essence Sheet Masks (2 variants)!

Hey guys,

Recently Skin18 sent me two Dermal Collagen Essence sheet masks, as part of their ongoing Reviewer Programme (which you can join too, even if you are a newbie blogger (Minimum requirement : 500 followers), by clicking here).

The ones I got were a) Pearl & b) Royal Jelly. These sheet type essence masks offer your skin direct nutrition & is of high quality. They are easy to use and fuss free. Both of these give a snug fit on the face.

The masks are brimming with essence. I found most essence on the mask itself and next to nil dripped inside the pack in the case of the Royal Jelly mask. However, the Pearl one had a more runny type of essence and there was plenty inside the pack, which I took in my hand and massaged into my face.

Both masks have a light, pleasant scent and is cool to touch and non oily. It says here on the pack that it should be applied on cleansed skin.

In detail :

Pearl Mask – This one contains 0.02% Pearl powder, which is supposed to keep the skin fresh, moisturized & bright. It also has 0.2% Hydrolyzed Collagen, among other ingredients. Volume : 23 gms

Dermal essence sheet mask

Royal Jelly Mask – This one contains 1% Royal Jelly extract, which is a complex of various kinds of microelements such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, water etc & supposed to help troubled & tired skin, keeping it soft & healthy. It also has 0.2% Hydrolyzed Collagen, among other ingredients. Volume : 23 gms

Dermal essence sheet mask

I left it on for 20 mins. The Pearl one felt brightening and moisturising while the Royal Jelly one left my skin feeling hydrated and nourished.

I do recommend you try these masks. The only problem I found with it is that both has parabens in them.

Price : $1.40 (Approx AED 5.14) for each of these masks. They are definitely budget friendly.

Back To School Looks For Young Girls and Tweens!

September is around the corner which means the start of school is upon us! Have you given any thought to the wardrobe for the young lady in your life? We hate to be vain, but starting back to school feeling confident (yet comfortable) is a must. Start the school year off right by choosing from some of these top 5 looks.

Are the clothes you are buying keeping up with the latest trends? Browsing through department stores don’t do us any favors. Some department stores have clothing options from two seasons ago on their racks. Enter the boutique. Boutiques offer a bevy of benefits that shopping at a big time department store lacks. Such as, quality products, unique fashions, and super personalized customer service. Don’t drag your youngster or tween to the mall this year consider outfitting her wardrobe with a unique individualized style.

So what are the top fashion finds for young girls this season?. Hint: It’s All About The Boutique 🙂

Leggings— Come on, even as adults we love a good pair of leggings. Leggings are a must have for any young girl. Wearing leggings under a skirt or dress keep girls feeling comfortable during gym class or on the playground. Leggings can also be worn as a comfortable pair of pants with a long knit top. Mixing and matching with leggings makes getting dressed in the morning a piece of cake. Shake it up, and wear basic solid leggings with a pattered top. Feeling extra bold? Try a pair of patterned leggings with a more basic top. No matter what choice, you can be sure your youngster will feel stylish and comfortable all day long.

Leggings

Dresses—For the little girl that loves to dress up find the perfect school dresses to add to her wardrobe. Pair them with leggings or tights to get more wear out of them as the seasons change. We are loving this look from Mustard Pie Dresses for something that can be worn anywhere, dressed up or dressed down. Don’t have a school-aged daughter yet? Mustard Pie Dresses can keep your littlest one in style too with their unique patterns and fun colors.

Trendy T-Shirts—Don’t put your child in yet another basic tee, step it up a notch with one of these trendy t-shirts. Mix and match with leggings, skirts, or pants for a comfortable and unique look. T-shirts make great layering pieces by wearing them with a cardigan or sweater your trendy t-shirt can be seen all year long.

Printed Skirts—Switch things up with a ruffled skirt like the one you see here. You can check it out more skirts like this at a young girls boutique. Skirts are another stellar option to be paired with leggings. Avoid having exposed legs on those brisk fall mornings. Or take advantage of the last few months of summer, and rock this beauty with a cute pair of sandals or flats, no leggings necessary. The ruffled look is a feminine yet classic style that gives your child’s wardrobe a timeless look.

Statement Making Headband—Finish off the look with a statement piece headband. Headbands have a functional yet fashionable use. Keep hair out of the eyes and away from the face while lending a little something extra to your style. Choosing a headband should be an easy choice because you the main goal is comfortability. If you pick an uncomfortable headband it will find a permanent home in a bathroom drawer, as opposed to your daughter head. Headbands can be dressed up or down. Worn with jeans and a t-shirt to provide a little pop, or matched with a favorite dress to give the look a polished finish.

Make going back to school fun this year by adding these trendy options to the school wardrobe.

Five Tips to a Quick Morning Haircare Routine!

Getting ready in the morning can feel like a chore, especially if you did not have enough sleep the night before. The last thing that you want to do in the morning when you are still sleepy is take time on doing your hair before you head out the door to work. This article will provide some great tips to completing a quick morning hair care routine that will leave your hair looking gorgeous all day long.

Determine your hair type. Is your hair dry, brittle, oily, or normal? If you have oily skin and tend to have an oily scalp by mid-day, leaving your tresses looking limp and tired, you will want to invest in a great shampoo formulated specifically for oily hair. There are many great options on the market so you will surely be able to find the best shampoo for oily hair that will fit right into your morning routine. When you find a shampoo that will work well for your hair type, be sure to look for a conditioner as well. Conditioner can help smooth your hair and eliminate frizz.

Use a comb on wet hair. One of the biggest mistakes that women make is taking a brush to a head of wet hair. A brush can pull at your hair strands and break them. Your hair brush can also cause damage to your hair strands when wet so the best option is to use a comb. Start by coming out the bottom of your hair strands to make sure there are no knots. Once complete, comb out your hair from the top of your head and down to the end of your hair strands.

Use a towel to dab off excess water. You may find that drops of water will spill on to your shoulders or floor when you comb out your wet hair. This is normal as your hair will soak up water. Use a towel to dab off extra water. This will speed up the drying process.

Use a hair dryer and round brush. The mornings tend to be hectic and styling your hair is not something that you want to take a great deal of time to complete. By drying your hair with a hair dryer and using a round brush at the same time, you can eliminate a step and save time. Instead of drying your hair and then using a curling iron or flat iron to complete your look, use a round brush to smooth out your locks and add a slight curl at the bottom. It will take some time to learn this technique but once you get it perfected, you will not fret about doing your hair in the morning anymore.

Spray with product. After you have dried and round brushed your hair, you can now apply a styling product that will hold the look all day. Spritz on a light layer of hairspray or add some nice smelling fragrance by spritzing yourself with a perfumed spray.

Five Skincare Treatments to Try to Reduce Your Body Fat!

Skincare and weight loss are two of the top things that concern most people today and the industry is booming with no signs of decline in the coming years. Skincare companies are on the rise, since the demand for beauty and wellness products and services is ever surging and with new technological upgrades and breakthrough in skincare and fat reduction, the needs are expected to boost. Treatments that provide both skincare and fat reduction are ever popular, as they hit two big birds with one stone. These treatments are highly sought- after and success stories never run short.

The combined power of skincare and fat reduction makes these treatments not only appealing but cost- beneficial in a sense. Here are the top treatments that offer this dual effect:

1. CoolSculpting

What is Coolsculpting? This latest fat reduction with huge skincare effect treatment is one of the most popular procedures in non- invasive and non- surgical treatments. Through a patented cooling technology, targeted fat areas are frozen and then natural fat cells reduction is induced. This treatment also takes off pesky cellulites under the skin that results in a smoother, younger look.

2. Cellulaze

Hailed as the very first FDA-Approved cellulite “cure”, Cellulaze works by inserting a small laser tube under the skin, the laser heats up and melts fat lumps and pockets while softening the bands of tissues that keep them together. As cellulite or fat is reduced, the skin outside is also improved and given a fresher look. The skin also ends up being tighter, keeping sagging and fine lines away.

3. Vanquish

This non-invasive, non-surgical, painless and generally comfortable procedure has many people wanting for more. Vanquish made a good name in the industry with countless of procedures done annually in different parts of the world. This treatment works with the use of Radio Frequency (RF) directed to target fat cells. Heat is applied to the target area and destroys fats without damaging the skin. The result is an optimum reduction in body fat and a tighter, smoother skin.

4. ZWave

Introduced in the market and approved by the FDA in 2015, ZWave is one of the well- known innovative treatments for skin care and weight loss. This treatment is also non- invasive and non-surgical. It works with the use of high energy radial shockwaves to target areas for fat reduction and cellulite management. Many beauty experts are giving positive feedback to ZWave with great potential to provide the required result for many.

5. Mesotherapy

Although not performed in the United States as it is not approved by the FDA, mesotherapy is a popular procedure in many countries in Europe and Asia. It uses vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes injected under the skin to break down fat and manage cellulite problems resulting in fat loss and tighter skin.

Treatments vary in effect and cost and there is not one that can serve as a cure-all for cellulite and weight loss. Hence, a practical expectation must be set and caution must be observed in undergoing any of these treatments to avoid problems.

Five Health Benefits of Taking a Bath!

Looking to try a health-benefitting trend you may not have thought much of as an adult? Splish, splash, try taking a bath! Not only are baths fun and relaxing, but they offer multiple health benefits too:

Improves Mood

A warm, relaxing soak after a long day can do wonders for your overall mood. Whether it’s the feeling of warmth washed over you, the quiet and isolation, the comforting body positioning (lying down or sitting with legs extended), or the aromatherapy of fragrant candles, a bath can help you de-stress and relax.

Want to take your mood boosting bath up a notch? Try:

● Using a ‘bath bomb’ or essential oils in your bath with scents that bring you calming comfort like lavender, eucalyptus or sandalwood

● Find the best loofah for washing, exfoliating, and massaging your skin

● Turn off harsh overhead lights and light a candle or two

● Listen to calming music, an audiobook, or podcast that you love

Can Reduce Pain

When it comes to aiding stiff joints and sore muscles, baths of all temperatures can play an important role. Athletes are known for dunking down in ice baths following an intense workout or game, as the cold sensation numbs nerve endings and slows down the conductivity of pain signals. Exiting the bath into warm air then boosts blood circulation to muscles, flushing out unwanted toxins, lactic acid buildup, and waste byproducts, and boosting the body’s natural healing powers.

Warm baths on the other hand can help relieve muscle tension and pain for the average person, while salt baths provide soothing relief to arthritis sufferers. Lying in a warm bath suspended with salt actually helps the body’s cells release water, reducing inflammation and blocking pain signals being sent back to the brain.

Improves Sinus Pressure

Really feeling the ache of congested sinuses from a cold or infection? Steam from a hot bath just might do the trick for temporarily relieving your pain by helping clear out nasal passageways and relieving painful nasal tissues inflamed from constant sneezing or blowing of your nose.

Elevating your body temperature with a warm bath may also cue lymphatic immune cells to function more efficiently, helping you stave off an infection or fight a cold, according to a 2011 study. Optimize your congestion-fighting bath with a DIY mixture of epsom salt, baking soda, and peppermint and eucalyptus oils.

Promotes Better Sleep

Relaxing at room temperature after a 20 minute dip in a warm (not super hot) bath in the evening cues a natural cool down for your body that returns your temperature to normal and slows your heart rate back down. This process can trigger the body to release the hormone melatonin which is responsible for helping you fall asleep at night.

De-stressing and practicing self-care before bed are also great ways to prepare for a restful night’s sleep. Avoid blue light from TV or smartphones while taking a bath as that can negate the sleep-positive effects your bath has and can suppress melatonin release.

Hydrates (and Cleanses) Skin

Your body doesn’t simply stay hydrated from the water you consume, but can soak in moisture from a bath as well. An addition of some oils and salts can aid sufferers of skin issues like eczema or psoriasis and may even be recommended by a doctor. Hot bath water actually opens pores and may even cause you to sweat which stimulates the body’s natural cleansing processes.

As the skin is an organ, it too can go through a detoxification regimen that includes regular bathing. Exfoliating in the shower after a bath can help remove built up toxins, contaminants, and metabolic waste products which have collected. Taking a bath also improves lymphatic flow and boosts blood circulation by increasing your heart rate.

It’s important to remember when taking a bath to avoid overly hot water as it can negatively impact people with existing heart problems, and it can dry out and dehydrate skin. If you have an existing health condition or concerns, talk to your doctor before jumping into the tub!

Top 10 Tips for Applying Makeup to Acne prone Skin!

If we lived in an ideal world, we´d all have flawless skin. However, we live in a world where not all of us are blessed with good genes. Therefore, many of us have to deal with the outbreak of acne, making it extremely difficult to apply makeup. Fortunately, you need not worry as we have listed 10 tips for applying makeup to acne prone skin.

Makeup

For more tips, visit Make Me Up Mandy.

If you find that your skin is flaky because of the over application of acne cream, you can use scotch tape to remedy the situation. All that’s required of you to do is to pat your skin with it.

It is not necessary for you to use heavy makeup to cover your acne scars. In fact, the over application of makeup only sheds light on the acne. Therefore, you should instead use sheer foundation to put the spotlight on the rest of your acne-free skin. Concealers should be used to cover up acne. When you apply foundation on the blemishes, you must do so with care; avoid dabbing more than necessary.

Sometimes, discoloration may still occur despite the use of concealers and sheer foundation. During those times, you can use a color corrector to ensure that the makeup blends in.

It is also advisable for you to add brightness to your complexion towards the end of your makeup routine. This will help bring glow to your skin which can otherwise be dull because of the use of primer, color correctors, blush etc.

You shouldn’t use cream foundations on your acne prone skin when applying makeup. It might be tempting to go all out with the concealers and foundation to hide the scars, but it will not enhance your appearance. In fact, it will make you stand out for all the wrong reasons. We can do without unwanted attention.

Here´s another important tip for you! You should ensure that your eyes are soft and nice when applying makeup to your acne prone skin. Therefore, you should avoid using dark mascara at all costs.

It is important for you to moisturize your face properly before you begin your makeup routine. Failure to do so often leads to chalky and rough looking skin, which, in turn, only brings more attention to your scars.

You must, at all costs, remove your makeup before you go to sleep. If you fail to do so, your skin will not breathe properly and the pores will clog up. And, the clogging of the pores could lead to the growth of more acne.

This tip is really a no-brainer. It is imperative for you to wash your hands before you begin your makeup routine. We wouldn’t want any bacteria, oil, and dirt on your face now, would we?

Now, the most important tip for you to know is the fact that you don’t have to cover the blemishes for anyone else. Don’t be pressured into applying makeup. You should only do it for yourself 🙂
