Review : Mediheal’s Dress Code Sheet Masks (2 variants)!

Hey guys,

Recently Skin18 sent me three MediHeal Dress Code sheet masks, as part of their ongoing Reviewer Programme (which you can join too, even if you are a newbie blogger (Minimum requirement : 500 followers), by clicking here). So, here are the masks I got :

Mediheal dress code sheet masks

Two were the same type. So, my review will be for 2 variants. The ones I got were –

a) Black (For Whitening) &

b) Violet (For Tone Up Care)

These masks are very sturdy, high quality but yet so soft and stretchy. They are easy to apply and fuss free. Both of these give a snug fit on the face. They feature masquerade ball mask designs on them and are probably the most beautiful masks I’ve ever tried on!.

Violet mask

This one contains acai berry, pomegranate & mulberry extracts. Since its formulated with hyaluronic acid & hydrolyzed collagen, it helps seal in moisture & enhance skin elasticity. Other ingredients in this are witch hazel, lavender, olive & fig extracts among other ingredients.

The mask uses advanced fiber material with high transparency and 3D cutting. The special dye used in it (which is harmless) causes no staining or discoloration. Its safety formula combines care and beauty, bringing a new concept of visual mask!. This one really hydrated and nourished my skin.

Black mask

This one is formulated with Pearl powder extract which is known for exceptional whitening properties. Pearl is effective in moisturizing and anti-aging, can protect and revitalize the damaged skin as well as improve upon skin problems. This mask too uses advanced fiber material like the Violet one. Other fantastic ingredients in this are royal jelly, caviar & honey extracts among many other fab ingredients.

Even after a single use, I felt a dramatically refreshed, more brighter look. I am not much into whitening skin hype but I can see whitening ingredients such as Niacinamide listed in the ingredients list.

Btw, I am pretty shocked to see how extravagant this one looks. It has red stones on them!. How gorgeous đź’–

The masks are brimming with essence. There was only a little essence inside the packs. Rest were all contained within the masks itself.

The Black mask has a lovely, pleasant scent but the Violet one’s scent isn’t that great. Both are cool to touch and non greasy. I left these on cleansed skin for 20-25 mins. Both contain 27 ml of product.

I do recommend you try these masks. The only problem I found with it is that both has parabens in them. Unlike some of the other sheet masks I’ve tried, these contain no alcohol. So, that’s a plus.

Price : Around $2 (Approx AED 7.35) for each of these masks. They are definitely budget friendly.

Six Wonderful Winter Skincare Tips!

Winter can be a season that is harsh on the skin. This is especially true for those who live in climates that get snow or colder temperatures. Unless you plan to move to a warm climate, there’s not much you can do to change the fact that winter is going to come your way. The good news is that there are some things you can do to help protect your skin all winter long. Yes, you can have beautiful skin all winter, and head right back into summer with a glow that will leave others envious!

When winter arrives, we tend to change up our routines a bit. There are people who don’t exercise as much, others who spend more time snuggled up on the couch watching the television, and others who completely change their diets. While you are reaching for more comfort foods this winter season, be sure to keep a healthy skincare routine on your mind.

Here are 6 wonderful winter skincare tips you will want to keep in mind when it starts getting colder outside:

• Don’t over bathe. It can be tempting to take long, hot showers, especially during the winter months. But did you realize that doing so can help dry your skin out? It’s true! Showering and bathing can strip your skin of natural oils, leading it to become dry, cracked, and itchy. You can help avoid this by keeping showers to no more than around five minutes.

• Moisturize daily. It’s imperative that you keep a good quality daily moisturizer on hand so that you can use it every time you get out of the shower. Pat your skin dry, don’t rub it or you can damage it, and then apply moisturizer to help keep it soft, supple, and smooth. Make moisturizing your skin a daily habit and you will see the benefits that it provides.

• Stay hydrated. People often drink plenty of water in the summer, but they cut back when it’s colder outside. You may need more water in the summer if you are active with sports and such, but you still need to stay well hydrated in the winter, too. Be sure to get plenty of fluids in you. If you are not partial to drinking much water, opt for drinking things like unsweet tea and green tea.

• Treat the acne. Winter is a great time to take the time to address problems you may be having with your skin. If you have acne, find a product that will address it once and for all. • Cover your skin. If you live where there are harsh winter conditions, it is important to keep your skin covered when you go outside. The dry air can damage your skin. You can avoid all that by making sure you keep it covered when you go outside. Also, don’t forget to use a good lip balm to keep your lips from chapping.

• Humidify your house. Winter is often a time when houses become dry inside. If the air in your home is too dry, it will lead your skin to become dry. Ever take your sock off in the winter and see lots of skin flake off from your leg? You know when you see that it’s time to moisturize and humidify. You can pick up an affordable humidifier at the department store and keep it running during the season.

Winter is also a time that you want to make sure you get enough sleep. Continue with the good sleep habits that you have always had, or should have, so that you can wake up feeling and looking your best each day. Healthy skin requires sleep, a good diet, plenty of hydration, and care from the elements. Keep these things in mind throughout the winter and beyond!

Review : Brillare Science’s Power Repair Haircare range!

Hey guys,

After trying out Brillare’s Micellar Water mist, I  became a huge fan of this brand. So, when I got to try out their shampoo/conditioner as well, I really was excited and looking forward to it’s effect on my hair.

So, today’s review is about Brillare Science’s Shampoo & Intenso Fluid Creme from their range called Power Repair which targets Damaged & Treated hair. My hair type is fine,  damaged & treated (read my famous hair rebonding story!). So this suits my hair well.

The Shampoo

This product reinforces the natural strength of the hair by providing them the bond repairing natural extract (chestnut) & cuticle resurfacing extract (black oat). It is formulated with highly natural, mild, hypoallergenic, sulfate free cleansers.

It is colorless and slightly viscous. A little goes a long way in this case. It lathers mildly. It leaves the hair feeling cleansed and healthy without overly drying it. That’s one problem I face with regular drugstore brands of shampoos. They leave my hair feeling squeaky clean and extremely dry. After all those shampoos, Brillare’s shampoo is actually a breath of fresh hair. It’s a great product & I feel this bottle would last me about 3 months ♡

Price : Rs 895 for a 200 ml bottle.

The Conditioner

They have named their restructuring conditioner as Intenso Fluid Cream. As the name suggests its a cream and it has a runny, lotion like consistency. It penetrates deeper layers of hair and provides greater nourishment. It too contains chestnut and black oat extracts.

This product can be applied from root to tip after shampooing. I usually leave it on for about 5 to 6 mins and rinse. It leaves the hair feeling so soft and nourished. It’s white in color. I find that I need a lot of product to generously coat my hair. The bottle might not last more than a month.

Price : Rs 995 for a 200 ml bottle.

The lightly orange tinged packaging of both products looks simple yet wonderful and high end. Both smell so beautiful and luxurious. While using these, it’s almost a spa like experience!.

Both are free from color, parabens, formaldehyde, mineral oil, petroleum wax. They are also cruelty free. These might look expensive but products that are chemical free are a great investment for the health of your hair. So, I highly recommend these!.

Review : Balancing Essential Micellar Water Mist by Brillare Science!

Happy New Year, dear friends!

I always make sure the first thing I post in a new year is very special. Today am reviewing Brillare Science’s Balancing Essential Micellar Water Mist, which is very special indeed & my favorite cleanser/make up remover at the moment.

Micellar water

Before that, I wish to discuss about the brand. Their unique approach is about focusing on the entire list of ingredient that goes in formulating a product. Keeping the ingredients as natural as possible, using only the clinically verified actives, blending them with target delivery techniques and making them 100% free from harmful/toxic/allergic chemicals. So, it’s free from parabens, formaldehyde, artificial fragrance and color.

It works well for the following :

â—Ź Pore rebalance
â—Ź Deep cleaning
â—Ź Makeup removal

Micellar water mists are known to really deep clean. So, its perfect to use before going to bed at night or even while you are outside. It comes in a very sturdy plastic, handy spray bottle. The nozzle is tiny, so it sprays well and as it’s name says, is a mist.

The product looks and feeks like water. However when the bottle is agitated, it becomes frothy. When I read ‘pore rebalance’, I automatically thought its for those with oily skin. However, it’s thankfully for all skin types.

The way it should be used is to spray 4 – 5 times on to a cotton pad. It immediately starts to foam.

I have darkened the pic so that the foam is more clear.

It feels so soft and silky on the skin and leaves the skin looking very clean, plump and youthful. The key actives are Red Algae extract, Papaya extract & gycerin. It’s smell is absolutely amazing & luxurious!.

These are the sides of the packaging.

Price : Rs 750 for a 100 ml bottle. It’s definitely on the pricey side. However, considering all the goodness packed to it, it’s a worthy investment.

Four Tips to Caring for Your Teeth!

Taking care of your teeth is the key to good dental health. When you get used to this daily routine, you will never be afraid of getting close to people in social events due to bad breath.

Review : Dermal Collagen Essence Sheet Masks (2 variants)!

Recently Skin18 sent me two Dermal Collagen Essence sheet masks, as part of their ongoing Reviewer Programme (which you can join too, even if you are a newbie blogger (Minimum requirement : 500 followers), by clicking here).

The ones I got were a) Pearl & b) Royal Jelly. These sheet type essence masks offer your skin direct nutrition & is of high quality. They are easy to use and fuss free. Both of these give a snug fit on the face.

The masks are brimming with essence. I found most essence on the mask itself and next to nil dripped inside the pack in the case of the Royal Jelly mask. However, the Pearl one had a more runny type of essence and there was plenty inside the pack, which I took in my hand and massaged into my face.

Both masks have a light, pleasant scent and is cool to touch and non oily. It says here on the pack that it should be applied on cleansed skin.

In detail :

Pearl Mask – This one contains 0.02% Pearl powder, which is supposed to keep the skin fresh, moisturized & bright. It also has 0.2% Hydrolyzed Collagen, among other ingredients. Volume : 23 gms

Dermal essence sheet mask

Royal Jelly Mask – This one contains 1% Royal Jelly extract, which is a complex of various kinds of microelements such as protein, fat, carbohydrate, water etc & supposed to help troubled & tired skin, keeping it soft & healthy. It also has 0.2% Hydrolyzed Collagen, among other ingredients. Volume : 23 gms

Dermal essence sheet mask

I left it on for 20 mins. The Pearl one felt brightening and moisturising while the Royal Jelly one left my skin feeling hydrated and nourished.

I do recommend you try these masks. The only problem I found with it is that both has parabens in them.

Back To School Looks For Young Girls and Tweens!

September is around the corner which means the start of school is upon us! Have you given any thought to the wardrobe for the young lady in your life?
