Review : Glamego Apr 2018 Beauty Box!

Hello!

I fell in love with the April Glamego box even before opening it, because of the perfectly summery magnetised box the products came in, featuring a hot pink stick ice cream that’s started to melt. It captures the feel of the very hot & humid climate in India right now.

Glamego April box

Glamego April box

The box has 4 full sized products & 1 deluxe sample. These products are all about fighting the sun and staying cool in this summer!. Here they are in detail :

Tjori Anti Tan pack – With wild turmeric (Kasturi manjal) as the main ingredient, this perfect age old formula helps in removing tan. It’s a loose powder and I used it by mixing it with water to form a smooth paste. You could also mix it in some rose water. I left it on for 15 mins and washed it off. My skin felt glowing after using this. It has a really pungent/strong smell.

Tjori wild turmeric facial

Other ingredients in it are bentonite clay, fuller’s earth, natural white clay, essential oils etc. It came in a 50 gms container and is worth Rs 525.

My Island Kiss lip balm – This one’s packaging is simply gorgeous and it has an international level of quality to it. The tinted lip balm I got is in the color Bunny Pink. It’s not sticky and is easy to apply. It has SPF 15.

My island kiss lip moisturizer

It is non toxic, organic & petroleum free. Ingredients list – Tropical Kokum & Mango butter, organic beeswax, stevia, organic carrot seed oil, pure castor oil, Japanese Cherry blossom essential oil, organic Macadamia nut oil, vitamin e oil and natural organic color. It’s 100% pure!. It smells absolutely lovely and yummy 😍. The tube contains 14gms and is worth Rs 499.

Vedic Line Gold facial – This box contains 6 sachets of different products that’s to be used in a step by step process starting from cleanser and ending with a serum. It’s ingredients are all known for their brightening property. This one can be used even as a bridal face pack.

Vedic line gold facial kit

I have high expectations of it. Since it’s best used prior to an event/occasion, am saving it for later. I will be doing a separate post for reviewing this and update the link here later. This at home facial kit is worth Rs 350.

Nelf USA compact – I was so in need of a compact and that’s when I received this!. What a surprise ☺. This one has SPF 18 in it. I wore it several times now and can say it roughly lasts 3 hours on my face especially since the hot climate makes me sweat bullets.. I love carrying this in my vanity for a quick touch up. This is worth Rs 350.

NELF USA compact powder

Natural Bath & Body Sea Clay face masque – This green colored clay mask is clarifying and I had doubts about using it, since I’ve normal/dry skin.

Natural bath and body sea clay face masque

However, for the purpose of this review, I tried it and was pleasantly surprised that it left my skin feeling and looking good. It didn’t dry out my skin at all. It has a lovely scent. There is a heating up sensation immediately after application. Nothing to worry about though!. I do recommend it for all skin types except those with sensitive skin.

Sea clay face masque

Me rocking the green look 😆

The full sized version of this is worth Rs 150.

Overall, this box is definitely summery and Glamego really excelled in putting together this box. Totally, this box is worth over Rs 1800, but you pay only Rs 299 for this subscription. So, definitely try it out. You can sign up here.

Review : NMNL Japanese Beauty Box!

Hey guys!

I’m thrilled to review a Japanese beauty subscription box!. It’s NMNL, short for ‘NoMakeNoLife’. They sent me their box from Dec 2017 for review.

“nomakenolife” is a popular phrase used in Japan by people who believe that makeup is essential to their lives. So, NMNL embraces that philosophy and brings high-quality products in a monthly box. The best part? – They ship worldwide!.

Here is the box I received :

NMNL Japanese beauty box

It contains 5 full sized products. Here are the details :

Matcha bubble bath by Sweets Maison – This one comes in such a cute little plastic bottle that is designed like a champagne bottle. The product is really thick. I quite liked the feel of it. A little goes a long way. It’s light green in color and it says here that it’s fragrance is that of Matcha. Personally, I haven’t tried Matcha but I’ve heard great things about it.

It can be used as a shower gel too. It lathers well and leaves the skin with a slight lingering scent.

Matcha bubble bath

L’air de savon ice body milk – This came in a bottle shaped like a soap bar. It smells amazing and is very creamy. It gets absorbed into the skin super fast. It’s in the scent Eternal Moments. This is my favorite product in this box.

Body milk

Rosy Rosa retractable lip brush – It’s my very first time seeing a retractable lip liner. I have only heard of it before. This black and silver casing almost looks like a little pen. It’s handy and travel friendly. The brush is sturdy and feels high quality. I am glad they included this in the box.

rosy rosa retractable lip brush

Profael smooth hand wrap – This is a hand cream that came accompanied with gloves that are made with 100% cotton. The cream is very thick and almost has a balm like texture. I applied that and wore the gloves overnight and it left my skin feeling super soft snd moisturised by morning.

profael smooth hand wrap

Dolly Wink vivid pink color eyeliner – A pink colored eyeliner is so not my type, so I gave it to my little cousin who loves makeup. However, I did try it out for the purpose of this review.

dolly wink vivid pink color eyeliner

It is buttery and easy to apply. The color is really vivid as it’s name suggests, especially in natural light. This brand feels high end.

Pink eyeliner

The last thing in the box was a booklet that described all the products, in English. This helped a lot since all products have Japanese explanations on them.

Overall, I love NMNL. I highly recommend you try this. It’s priced at $29.99/month. You can get $3 off your first box by using my code Neenz87.

They sent it by post and it reached me from Japan to India in 2 weeks & 2 days. Do check it out to try Japanese brands/products that are not otherwise available to us locally.

Review : Glamego Feb 2018 Beauty Box!

Hey dearies,

With February’s box, Glamego has just reaffirmed the fact that they are indeed India’s No.1 beauty subscription box. Titled ‘Classy Flaunt’, this time the box contains 4 full sized products worth Rs 2000, while the box itself costs only Rs 299!

Glamego February box

Here are the products in detail :

● Mcaffeine Choco face pack – This comes in 2 variants – gel based for dry skin and clay based for oily skin. I like that Glamego is truly a personalized box. I received the one for dry skin because they asked me my preference beforehand.

Mcaffeine choco face pack

Chocolate and caffeine, both are powerhouse ingredients that bring out the glow in your skin while pumping it with antioxidants. This mask looks just so yummy and smells delicious. God knows how I resisted just eating it up. Lol!.

I applied this creamy mask for about 15 mins and washed off with cool water. It left my skin looking radiant and youthful. I love this brand, which is India’s first caffeinated personal care brand.

This product is worth Rs 359 for a tub containing 25ml.

● Kronokare Pollu-Stop face – This colorless mist is one of a kind, I feel. It helps in warding off pollution from our face. How cool is that!. It’s perfect for those who spend a lot of time outside. It actually acts as an invisible shield against pollution nano particles and thus helps protect, nourish & soothe the skin.

Kronokare Pollu stop face

It has a strong scent which am not really a fan of. The product itself gives a barely there look when sprayed on the face. It can be used before or after applying a face cream. It comes fitted with a fine nozzle and as such spraying with it creates a nice mist.

It specifically says ‘face’ in it’s name because this same product is available for the hair too that helps our tresses fight against pollution. It’s actually one of the products in Glamego’s March box.

This product is free of sulfates, silicone, parabens, fragrance or mineral oil. It’s worth Rs 495 for a bottle that contains 30 ml.

● The Nature’s Co Radiance face cream – This is hands down my favorite product in this box. It’s main ingredient is saffron, something that’s very expensive and wonderful. It smells of saffron itself.

Nature's Co saffron radiance face cream

Saffron helps in making the skin radiant and am so glad I got to try out this cream. The texture of it is so unlike regular face creams. It’s balm like, slightly viscous and yet when applied on skin, it slides on smoothly like a rich cream. A little goes a long way.

[This pic is from my Instagram. Do follow me, if you aren’t already].

The tub is super tiny, containing only 25 ml. But, guess what?. It costs a cool Rs 550!.

The ingredients list is as follows : Saffron, Aloe Vera extract, Grapeseed oil, Jojoba oil, Wheatgerm oil, Almond oil, cream base, aroma & natural preservatives. This brand is cruelty free & eco friendly.

● Bella Voste Perfect lip gloss – This was one of the products I received in the January box too (read that review here). But I selected a different shade this time. It’s a light, gorgeous pink shade called Pop of Pink.

Bella voste pop of pink

Overall, I love that the general theme of this box is to bring out the best in your skin. I am all about skincare as some of you already know.

I highly recommend Glamego. You can sign up here.

Review : OPI’s Got the Blues for Red Nail Lacquer!

Hello!

Today am doing a mini review of an OPI nail lacquer that I received for review a while back.

It’s a blue based red color and thus rightfully named ‘Got the Blues for Red’. I love the way OPI names their shades.

OPI Got the blues for red

This garnet shade is quite classy and elegant. I feel it would look the best on pale skin. Even my husband mentioned it doesn’t suit me (my Indian skin tone) much. Maybe it’s because it’s blue based.

Anyways the formula of this one is really nice. It dries extremely fast and gives a smooth application. One coat gives a glassy effect while two coats give a lovely opaque look. At the most, I have worn this for 5 days straight and it didn’t chip during that time period.

Also, if you don’t know already, OPI is a 3-free brand, meaning they don’t contain the three toxic chemicals DBP (dibutyl phthalate), toluene and formaldehyde.

Review : GlamEgo Jan 2018 Beauty Box!

Hey guys,

Am so excited to review GlamEgo’s very first box of this year!. It’s aptly new year themed and it’s so adorable. The #NoResolutions hashtag made me smile.

Other than the picture in the front, every other space on the box is covered with typical resolutions people make such as : Lose weight, Grow hair (which is my personal, one & only resolution this year) & also some not so typical resolutions such as : Talk less, listen to him, do not freak, less instagram etc!

Glamego jan 2018

Such a fun box at the very first glance. On opening it, there is a card which says “Thanks for making GalmEgo India’s No.1 Beauty box”. Well, no wonder there. At just Rs 299 per month, GlamEgo is definitely worth it. This month’s products which concentrate on the theme of “Lap of luxury” are simply incredible and worth upto Rs 2500!.

At the back of the card, they have listed the price and description of the 4 products included in the box. It contains 3 full sized products and 1 deluxe sample.

On to the products :

1) Bio Bloom’s Face oil : This is THE most fabulous thing I’ve ever seen in ANY beauty subscription box ever!. I am a die hard fan of face oils because it takes your skin care regime to the next level.

Bio Bloom face oil

This one ticks all the right boxes :

* It’s 100% natural
* It comes in a tinted, brown glass bottle which is great to retain the properties of the natural blend of oils
* It is age defying (talk about antiaging and I am done for.. it’s my weakness!) plus a radiance booster
* Contains a potent mix of wonderful oils – Apricot kernel oil, carrot seed oil, rosehip oil, geranium oil, lemon oil, frankincense oil, myrrh, rosemary, vitamin E & evening primrose. That’s it. No other unintelligible & unreadable ingredients!. The Vitamin E in this acts as a natural preservative.
* It has a dropper to dispense the product. Is it just me or do you find droppers just so freaking amazing, convenient & expensive looking??..
* It’s suitable for all skin types & for anyone above the age of 18.

It has a lovely scent, a potent kind of smell that lingers on the skin and is dominantly of lemon & frankincense. It’s not a heavy, greasy oil. It isn’t that lightweight too. It’s in the middle but gets absorbed into the skin super fast and leaves it looking glowy with a light sheen. Its a beautiful product. I am so in love with it. Because of all it’s ingredients that are expensive in their own right, this premium product is pretty expensive, costing Rs 1499 for a 15ml bottle.

The bottle will surely last me a long while since I use it only at night (after serum, before night cream) & only use 6 – 7 drops each time. I’ve used this for some days now and I do feel my skin looks like it’s glowing, in the mornings. It’s age defying results can only be seen after a long term use, however it’s ingredients list makes me believe that this brand knows what they are talking about!

2) Bella Voste Lip Gloss in the color Rust Crush – This is my first time trying this brand and I quite loved it’s quality. It’s packaged well in a long, glass tube. The pigmentation is definitely great and it stays on the lips for several hours,  while imparting moisture to the lips. It’s formulated in Italy and is mineral oil & talc free.

Bella Voste lip gloss

Rust Crush is a beautiful nude pink with the slightest, barely-there golden shimmer. It’s an everyday-wear kind of color. Another plus is that it’s non sticky and feels great on the lips. GlamEgo lets the subscriber choose tge color they like. I had 4 choices and I selected this one.  Here is the lip swatch :

Rust Crush lip swatch

Price : Rs 599 for the tube containing 3.2ml

3) Natural Bath & Body’s (NBB) Vital Nourishment Cream : This lightweight, white colored cream gets absorbed right into the skin as if it is quenching up the thirst of dry skin!. It smells citrus like and is such a heavenly, luxurious smell. Their tag is “Your lighter-whiter-brighter fix” (though I do not support the ‘whiter’ look claim).

NBB Vital nourishing cream

It’s ingredients are mainly Vitamin C & Grapefruit, both of which are known to be skin brighteners. This one was a deluxe sample containing just 20 gms. It’s full sized one is valued at Rs 220.

4) Bio Bloom’s Handmade soap : For this 4th product, different people got different things in their boxes. It could have been any skincare /makeup product that’s worth upto Rs 350.

Hand made soap in India

I am glad to get this soap. It’s titled Romantic & has rose oil in it which gives a really great scent. It lathers just right and leaves the skin feeling soft.

All in all, I am in love with this box and feeling like a spoilt princess ♡. What a great value & a wonderful start to the new year!

Review : Balancing Essential Micellar Water Mist by Brillare Science!

Happy New Year, dear friends!

I always make sure the first thing I post in a new year is very special. Today am reviewing Brillare Science’s Balancing Essential Micellar Water Mist, which is very special indeed & my favorite cleanser/make up remover at the moment.

Micellar water

Before that, I wish to discuss about the brand. Their unique approach is about focusing on the entire list of ingredient that goes in formulating a product. Keeping the ingredients as natural as possible, using only the clinically verified actives, blending them with target delivery techniques and making them 100% free from harmful/toxic/allergic chemicals. So, it’s free from parabens, formaldehyde, artificial fragrance and color.

It works well for the following :

● Pore rebalance
● Deep cleaning
● Makeup removal

Micellar water mists are known to really deep clean. So, its perfect to use before going to bed at night or even while you are outside. It comes in a very sturdy plastic, handy spray bottle. The nozzle is tiny, so it sprays well and as it’s name says, is a mist.

Micellar water

The product looks and feeks like water. However when the bottle is agitated, it becomes frothy. When I read ‘pore rebalance’, I automatically thought its for those with oily skin. However, it’s thankfully for all skin types.

The way it should be used is to spray 4 – 5 times on to a cotton pad. It immediately starts to foam.

I have darkened the pic so that the foam is more clear.

It feels so soft and silky on the skin and leaves the skin looking very clean, plump and youthful. The key actives are Red Algae extract, Papaya extract & gycerin. It’s smell is absolutely amazing & luxurious!.

These are the sides of the packaging.

Price : Rs 750 for a 100 ml bottle. It’s definitely on the pricey side. However, considering all the goodness packed to it, it’s a worthy investment.

Top 10 Tips for Applying Makeup to Acne prone Skin!

If we lived in an ideal world, we´d all have flawless skin. However, we live in a world where not all of us are blessed with good genes. Therefore, many of us have to deal with the outbreak of acne, making it extremely difficult to apply makeup. Fortunately, you need not worry as we have listed 10 tips for applying makeup to acne prone skin.

Makeup

For more tips, visit Make Me Up Mandy.

If you find that your skin is flaky because of the over application of acne cream, you can use scotch tape to remedy the situation. All that’s required of you to do is to pat your skin with it.

It is not necessary for you to use heavy makeup to cover your acne scars. In fact, the over application of makeup only sheds light on the acne. Therefore, you should instead use sheer foundation to put the spotlight on the rest of your acne-free skin. Concealers should be used to cover up acne. When you apply foundation on the blemishes, you must do so with care; avoid dabbing more than necessary.

Sometimes, discoloration may still occur despite the use of concealers and sheer foundation. During those times, you can use a color corrector to ensure that the makeup blends in.

It is also advisable for you to add brightness to your complexion towards the end of your makeup routine. This will help bring glow to your skin which can otherwise be dull because of the use of primer, color correctors, blush etc.

You shouldn’t use cream foundations on your acne prone skin when applying makeup. It might be tempting to go all out with the concealers and foundation to hide the scars, but it will not enhance your appearance. In fact, it will make you stand out for all the wrong reasons. We can do without unwanted attention.

Here´s another important tip for you! You should ensure that your eyes are soft and nice when applying makeup to your acne prone skin. Therefore, you should avoid using dark mascara at all costs.

It is important for you to moisturize your face properly before you begin your makeup routine. Failure to do so often leads to chalky and rough looking skin, which, in turn, only brings more attention to your scars.

You must, at all costs, remove your makeup before you go to sleep. If you fail to do so, your skin will not breathe properly and the pores will clog up. And, the clogging of the pores could lead to the growth of more acne.

This tip is really a no-brainer. It is imperative for you to wash your hands before you begin your makeup routine. We wouldn’t want any bacteria, oil, and dirt on your face now, would we?

Now, the most important tip for you to know is the fact that you don’t have to cover the blemishes for anyone else. Don’t be pressured into applying makeup. You should only do it for yourself 🙂

Five Simple Beauty Tricks While On The Go!

Keeping up with our beauty routine is much easier when we are in the comforts of our home. However, when we ladies are on-the-go, especially when traveling, keeping up with all of these may not be the first thing that comes to our mind. We may not have the time to deal with all the demands of our beauty regimen.

Yet, your beauty routine doesn’t have to suffer even when in transit. Even when we are at our busiest, it is still possible to look our best. Check out these 5 simple beauty tricks while on the go.

1. Always keep hydrated.

This may be the least thing related to your beauty regimen, but for you to have great skin, you must always include hydration in your skin care routine. This is extremely important, especially when traveling by plane. Traveling at high altitudes can cause flaky skin as the air can be very dry. Drink plenty of water every now and then. In addition to that, apply your favorite moisturizer to your face and body for added skin hydration.

2. Treat your hair before traveling.

Being in transit for long periods of time doesn’t do our hair any good. As harsh as it is to our skin, being on the go can also affect our hair. That is why treating your hair while you are still at home by applying hair masks can make a difference. Doing this will suffice, so while on the go, you may simply spray dry shampoo. You’ll definitely look like these top models we see on tvs. Bringing handy hair masks and hair essential oils on your trip will also do.

3. Skip foundation.

Applying foundation is time-consuming. And when you are in transit, it may feel like such a hassle to apply it. So when you are on-the-go, it may no longer be necessary. Instead, use tinted moisturizers as they are lighter than the foundation, but with added benefits. It will keep your face hydrated, and at the same time, it can also cover up dark spots and blemishes. The best thing about this is that it will only take seconds to apply. Even while you are inside any type of vehicle, you can just squeeze a little in the palm of your hand, apply it lightly on your face, and you are good to go.

4. Use multi-purpose beauty products.

This product is heaven-sent to those who are perpetually late. Instead of bringing a lot of products in your bag, you can just use one for several purposes. One example is coconut oil which you can use as a lip balm, face and hair moisturizer, and even as makeup remover! Another example would be tints that can be used not only for your lips but also as a blush.

5. Always bring blotting paper.

Bless the soul of the person who invented this amazing product. When on-the-go, our skin can get very oily, especially in the forehead and nose area. Fret not; instead of redoing your entire beauty routine, you can simply put on that oil blotting paper to get the unwanted shine off of your face.
