Review : Glow Radiance Defy powder!

Hi guys,

It’s my first time trying a Collagen & Hyaluronic Acid food supplement. Collagen as you might already know, makes the skin more elastic and youthful, while Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, thus keeping it hydrated.

Glow Radiance’s Defy powder contains 5000mg of hydrolized collagen, which is pretty concentrated and 50mg of Sodium Hyaluronate in each serving. Serving size is 1 scoop, which comes along with the powder. I was pretty excited trying this product since it’s being ingested and hence works on a cell level. Surely there are many products out there which can be applied topically. Ofcourse they do work well but the Defy powder is superior since it’s a food supplement that has a fast absorption.

Glow Radiance defy

This powder comes in a tin and contains 200 gms. It’s a 40 days supply. I waited until I completed the entire course before doing this review, so that I can write a thorough one. The result is amazing!. My skin looks really great and I even got many compliments on my hydrated, moisturised skin. Since many know that I keep trying new creams and such, the common question was ‘Which cream are you using currently?’. Lol!.

Glow Radiance Defy powder

The powder is cream in color, has a strange smell and tastes pleasant. It’s an umami taste. To use it, simply dissolve a scoop of powder in a glass of water after meal once daily. It contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, milk, egg, shellfish, preservatives, artificial flavors or color & is made in France.

My skin looks plumped, youthful, more supple and as if there is an inner glow. Glow Radiance’s motto itself is ‘Boost beauty from within’ which I think is really apt. It was during the third week that I started noticing an overall smooth effect. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wishes to defy age itself (i.e. to an extent).

One thing I found a bit disappointing was that I thought it would diminish my smile lines which are a bit deep, since I smile a lot :D. But it didnt affect it at all. My eye area looks better though and I feel the fine lines there have softened. It also helps in keeping more lines at bay.

Price : AED 270 for a 200 gms tin

Definitely a product worth checking out if you are into an anti-aging skincare routine, just like me. Click here to buy.

Review : February 2016 Glambox!

Hey guys,

Though late, here are my thoughts on February’s Glambox 🙂

February 2016 Glambox

It contained the following products :

1) Hair & Beauty by Edge Hand-tied False Eye Lashes – Everytime I have received false eyelashes for review or as gift, I have passed it on to others, because I don’t wear it. This time though these lashes looked soo amazing, that I decided to try it on. It felt very foreign on my eyelids but it looked really pretty. These are hand tied lashes and looks high quality. It’s light weight. This is the ‘Rockstar’ variant. It has a natural, fluttery-lashes finish. This pack doesn’t come with a glue though. I had to get one and since I couldn’t get an eyelash glue itself easily, I ended up getting and using a Bindi gum. It worked just fine. I have worn it 3 times so far. The below pic is when I wore it for a special occasion.

Hand tied lashes

False eyelashes

Just in case you are wondering, I’m wearing Fresh Look Color Blends Pure Hazel contact lenses.

After each use, I cleaned the band using a makeup remover so that all traces of glue are gone. Then I stored it in the same packaging that it came in, so that it retains it’s shape and I can reuse it. If you take good care, a set of lashes, particularly one that’s this high quality, can be reused several times. Even though the resulting look is pretty and feminine, I do find the application of false eyelashes quite cumbersome. Lol!. Those who know how to apply it fast and easily, well, lucky them!

2) Derma E Hydrating Night Crème – I was super excited seeing this product in the box, because I had almost bought this online once but then decided not to get it. However, having tried this from the Glambox, I freaking love it, and next time I need a night cream, I am going to get a full sized one.

Derma e Hydrating Night Creme

This is a cream colored, light weight cream. It smells just like bubblegum and is so wonderfully pleasant. It gets absorbed fast into the skin and is really hydrating. This is a crueltyfree, vegan, paraben free and gluten free product.

3 & 4) Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel & Aloe Bha Skin Toner – These are some Asian skincare samples from the brand Benton. The first one is a 5 ml sample of Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel, that contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice 80% and Propolis Extract 10%. It’s a transparent gel that feels so soothing on the skin. I used it as the final step (as a moisturizer) in my skincare routine. It’s supposed to be unscented however I did find that it had a light, peculiar scent. It has a light and non sticky application.

Benton Aloe

Second one is the Aloe BHA 0.5 Skin toner – This is such a fantastic toner. I got only about 6 uses from the little sample bottle, but even from the very first use I found that even though it’s gentle, it even removes any traces of impurities or makeup that the cleanser might have missed out on. ‘Gentle but pretty powerful’ is how I wish to describe this product. It looks and feels just like water. I disliked it’s smell though. It feels like smelling chemicals. Other than that, it’s an awesome product. Loved it!

5) Atelier Cologne Oud Saphir sample – Oh!. This is probably one of the best Oud perfumes that I have ever tried out. It’s not overpowering at all yet lingers on the skin for a long while. I got 2 samples along with two pretty post cards.

Atelier Oud Cologne

1) A Vaniday gift voucher worth 40% off
2) A gift voucher worth 30% online discount at online store
3) An AED 100 gift voucher to spend at K Lynn Lingerie (on a minimum spend of AED 300).

Overall, I quite liked this box. Be it my first time ever trying Asian skincare or false eyelashes on, I loved my experience with it. Why don’t you look at the three subscription options and subscribe to Glambox today itself?.

Review : December 2015 Glambox!

Hey guys,

Being a mom is keeping me busy literally 24/7!. That’s why my reviews are being kept pending :(. So, though late, here are my thoughts on December’s Glambox.

December Glambox

1) L’occitane Verbena soap with Shea butter – This is my first time trying a soap by L’occitane. It is extra gentle and has a beautifully pleasant citrus scent. It lathers just the right amount. Majority of the ingredients in it are organic. It comes in an eco friendly packaging, which is great. This is a full size product, being 100 gms. I really loved it.

L'occitane soap

2) Bee Venom mask by Abeeco – Bee venom’s usage in skincare is creating quite the ‘buzz’. Apparently bee venom is nature’s botox!. It fools your skin to think it has been stung by a bee and blood is sent rushing to that area, which in turn enhances the production of collagen & elastin, thus making the skin look plump & youthful. Prolonged use will help in anti-aging and getting rid of fine lines. Since the dosage of bee venom in such products is less, it doesn’t actually sting your skin.

Bee venom

I have been eyeing a pretty popular product which has bee venom in it. But it’s price had me doubting whether to invest in it or not. So imagine my surprise when I saw this product in the box. Finally am getting to try out a product with bee venom in it!.

The verdict?. I freaking love it!. Even from the very first use I could tell a difference. It instantly tightens the pores thus making the skin look super smooth. Also, skin feels so soft. This Abeeco product is multi purpose. It can either be used as a mask or a night cream. If using as a mask, you can apply it and wash it off after 20 mins. If using as a cream, just apply and leave it overnight. I haven’t used it as a mask because obviously it feels so wrong to wash off such a wonderful product after just 20 mins. Lol 😀 .

It has a light scent & a lovely, not-so-thick, creamy consistency. It spreads easily so a little goes a long way. Before trying such a product, a patch test is highly recommended to make sure you aren’t allergic to it. The sample came in a bottle with a convenient pump, containing 15 gms. This product is paraben free & contains Lavender oil, Jojoba oil & Manuka oil. This is made in New Zealand with premium local bee venom. Now I know I should definitely invest in bee venom products..

3) Parachute Gold – This is Parachute’s latest variant. This coconut oil is golden in color. It smells so divine just like home made coconut oil. The sample contains 50 ml which is a great size to try out. I been using this for a while and quite like it.

Parachute Gold

4) FreshLook Colorblends contact lens – I am super excited about this product. I got it in the color Pure Hazel, which is one of those colors which look very flattering on Indian skintone.

Pure Hazel contact lens

However, I can’t review this yet since this is a one time use only lens and I would like to wear it for some special occasion. So I will review this in a separate post in the near future.

5) Misa Nail Lacquer – It’s the first time am hearing about the brand Misa. This nail polish is such a fantastic shade of red, I am so in love with it. It’s the shade 229 Red Pumps in the Nordstrom. Since it’s a nail lacquer, the sheen it leaves on the nails is absolutely gorgeous. The sample came in a 8 ml bottle. Misa is free of chemicals & toxins and all their colors are 5-free, durable, long lasting & easy to remove. For me, it lasted a week without chipping. I love it’s glossy look. It’s a brand you must try!

6) Pure Organic Shea Butter by Shea Butter DXB – A little container full of unrefined Shea butter which is made in Africa but packaged in UAE. Shea butter is a multi purpose product. I am currently using it as a lip balm and also on my heels to prevent them from cracking. Since it’s unrefined and has no additives at all, it has a very earthy scent. I really like this product.

Unrefined Shea butter

7) Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips – I got 2 of these in the box stuck inside a brochure which lists all the benefits of the product & shows the Biore range of Charcoal incorporated products. This easy to use charcoal strips are supposed to draw out & trap skin impurities for a deep clean for all your pores. As a proof you can see white pore plugs on the black strip (disgusting yet oddly satisfying!).

Biore pore strips

Biore pore strips

As per my own experience, as soon as you apply the strip, there is a tingling sensation. On removing it after the required 10 minutes, I found that the skin around my nose feels extremely smooth. I didn’t find any white pore plugs on my strips, but that could because I have a pretty fantastic (not boasting) skincare routine that helps keep my skin clean.

Onto vouchers & brochures

● A flyer about Shea Butter DXB which when presented at their store, will make you eligible to get 2 Jars of Shea butter for AED 200

● Dermalogica gift voucher of 150 Dhs off towards any of their 60/75 minute services

● Brochure about IBX System & gift voucher for a free IBX Treatment session with any manicure and pedicure

● Discount code which gives 50% off on Vaniday

● Brochure about Abeeco Bee venom mask listing all it’s ingredients & their benefits.

● A card about Misa

● Discount code which gives 25% off at I Saw It First, a shopping site.

● A gorgeous brochure about Parachute Gold

I am absolutely in love with December’s Glambox. It had the right mix of products be it skincare related, hair related or even bath related. Why don’t you look at the three subscription options and subscribe to Glambox today itself!.

New Year Skin Resolutions With Herbline Essentials!

Improve the appearance of your skin in just a few steps and with a little help from homegrown all-natural beauty brand, Herbline Essentials

Welcome to 2015 – a brand New Year that’s filled with so many new opportunities and the chance to break bad beauty habits and start again afresh. So, if you’re sleeping with your make-up on, forgetting to apply SPF when out and about, or not drinking enough water to keep yourself hydrated, now is the time to make some positive steps to change and up the ante on your beauty routine in the year ahead.

1. Stop sleeping in your make-up!

How many times do we vow to do this?  Well, all the time probably, until we don’t have the energy to walk to the bathroom and wash our faces! We understand the days get busy, but simply put, if you have time to put make-up on, you need to make time to take it off.  Sleeping in make-up, not only marks your lovely bed linen, but it’s the perfect breeding ground for bacteria too. Instead of falling asleep in your foundation, think about how you can re-order your life to incorporate a better cleansing routine.  If you doze off in front of the TV every night, clean your face before you turn it on. Do you hate washing your face in the sink, then take a shower and wash it then.

Herbline Product recommendation:  Aloe Vera and Honey Cleansing Milk (AED 99) – The Aloe Vera acts as a natural cleanser, while the honey penetrates deeply to nourish the skin. The formula works effectively on make-up and dirt, unclogging pores and moisturing the skin at the same time.

Herbline Essentials Aloe Vera & Honey Cleansing Milk (AED99)

2. Cleanse, tone and moisturise – embrace the importance of a good routine!

Clean, healthy skin is always on trend and embracing the three-step skincare routine really does work, so take the time to choose and invest in some good products that will cleanse, tone and moisturise your skin. It will thank you for it in the long run.

Herbline Product recommendation:  Hero product, the Cucumber & Rose Skin Tonic (AED 105) cools and softens your skin. This tonic is blended with a natural moisturiser and mild astringent that will soothe and tone, leaving your skin moist, supple and beautifully fresh. It is especially good after shaving and waxing too.

3. Give the same attention to the skin on your body as you do to the skin on your face

How many of us happily moisturise our face, but forget all about the rest of the skin on our bodies?. Moisturise your whole body every day, using a lotion, body butter or one of the new moisturising sprays. It’s important to replenish your skin’s lost moisture, especially in this colder season. Also, don’t forget to body brush your body once a week, to kick start healthy blood circulation.

Herbline Product recommendation:  Aloe Vera and Honey Moisturising Lotion (AED 99) – combining the moisture rich properties of Aloe Vera with nutritive honey, this delicious moisturiser works as a light, yet powerful, detoxifying and healing lotion. As it hydrates, the skin is transformed, becoming smoother and more supple.

4. Don’t forget your SPF!

Sunscreen isn’t just for when you hit the beach. Never forget the importance of protecting your skin from the sun, especially here in the harsh desert environment, as you go about your day-to-day life.   On a daily basis, the sun’s UV rays can affect our skin more than we realise. Long-term, regular exposure to the sun can decrease the elasticity of our skin, resulting in premature aging, while too much sun can also decrease our skin’s immune function, making us more susceptible to cancerous cells.

Herbline Product recommendation:  SPF 40 Sun Screen Lotion (AED 109) is fast absorbing and protects your skin from wind, sun exposure and heat, whilst gently moisturising. Suitable for all ages and skin types, this lotion can help to heal minor rashes and sunburn. Just don’t forget to re-apply it every 2 hours or after swimming.

Herbline Essentials SPF 40 (AED 109)

5. Sleep more!

While eight hours of sleep might not be for everybody, you know better than anybody just how much sleep your body actually needs. It’s just so easy to try and get by on less than that, isn’t it? Here’s the thing though: your skin, (like the rest of your body), regenerates and repairs as you sleep. This means that getting adequate sleep will do wonders for your complexion and your overall health.

Herbline Product recommendation:  Try Herbline’s wonder cream, the Aloe Vera, Apricot & Sunflower Nourishing Cream (AED 141). The powerful Nourishing Cream works by increasing your skin’s resilience to moisture, leaving it soft and completely hydrated. It contains natural ingredients that have SPF properties according to the study of Ayurveda and will detoxify and heal. Pair a good night’s sleep with this replenishing moisturizer and wake up to renewed and replenished skin.

Keep your New Year skin resolutions. Keep your skin beautiful with Herbline Essentials. Herbline Essentials is the home grown beauty brand and one of the UAE’s top selling pharmacy skin and hair care ranges. Its products use completely 100% organic ingredients and are family friendly.

Review: L’Oreal Extraordinary oil cream!

I tried L’Oreal’s latest product, the Age Perfect Extraordinary Oil cream and I am quite in love with it. It is a nourishing cream, infused with precious oils and white jasmine.

The outer packaging is really gorgeous with a black and golden design. The glass container with the product is compact and simple, yet looks expensive, with a pretty golden lid. The cream is a light yellowish cream in color. It’s really light and silky in texture. Skin easily absorbs the cream and though it has oil micro-pearls in it, it’s non greasy and non-sticky. As soon as the cream is applied, the skin looks radiant and nourished. The oil pearls illuminates the skin with the slightest bit of shimmer.

This moisturizer is suitable for anyone within the age range of 20 – 60. I highly recommend this moisturizer to you. It’s a great addition to your skincare routine. I got this from Lulu Center.

Price: AED 83.50 for a tub containing 50ml.

Have you tried it?. If yes, let me know your thoughts on it.

Review : Mad Hippie Exfoliating Face Serum!

Last October, I bought Mad Hippie’s Exfoliating face serum from iHerb (Click here to see that haul post). I love serums. That’s no secret. Mad Hippie, though unusually named, is an advanced skincare brand. All of their products have very powerful, natural antioxidant ingredients. The more powerful the ingredients, the better the results are.

I have been using it for about 2 months now and it’s a good time period to judge the product well. This serum contains 16 active ingredients in it. Those 16 ingredients are : Glycolic acid, Vitamin B5, Lactic acid, Matrixyl 3000, Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Sodium hyaluronate, White tea extract, Goji berry extract, PhytocellTec (Apple Stem cells of the rare Swiss apple which have been shown to protect skin cells from age related damages, in combination with a few other ingredients), Gigawhite (A natural blend of six organically grown alpine plants that lessen discoloration by inhibiting melanin production), Melatonin, Caffeine, Biotin, Tocopheryl acetate and Ceramide 3. This product contains no parabens, harmful chemicals, synthetic color or fragrance.

These ingredients work together to help shed dull, damaged skin & discoloration to reveal brighter, smoother skin. Within a couple of weeks, I could see the results!. My skin was visibly brighter. Even my family noticed it when they saw me after a gap of two weeks. There is a bouncy feel to my skin which is really healthy.

The outer packaging has cute floral designs on them. The brand believes in flower power and being close to nature when developing their products. The serum itself, comes in a dark brown glass bottle. It has a dropper, which is one of my favorite kind of packaging for such products. The serum is beige in color. It looks a bit sticky when you dispense it out through the dropper. However, when you apply it onto your face, it isn’t sticky at all. It’s almost liquid like, then. It gets absorbed into the skin, super fast. It smells like apple and coffee mixed together!. Though individually these smells are nice, combined am not a fan of it. So, I am disliking it’s scent however when looking at how amazing the product is, I can live with it!

The bottle contains 30 ml and will last a LONG time. You only need 2 drops each time. I give two long presses on the cap of the dropper. That dispenses enough amount to cover both my face and neck. The liquid consistency is easy to work with and spreads well. I use this every night right before applying an oil. To read my nighttime skincare routine, click here.

Since some of the ingredients in this serum can cause sensitivity to sun, it’s best advised to use it only at night. Use sunscreens, if you like to use it in the morning. I highly recommend this serum. This is one of the best serums I have ever used. It’s not just about having my skin brightened. It’s about the overall feeling of healthy skin that I just love!.

Price : $27.99 (AED 102.81) for a 30ml bottle. It seems really expensive but in the long run (since a bottle lasts really long), it’s a good investment. Also, iHerb has the lowest prices. It’s best to buy from there. Even Mad Hippie’s own website sells these for $34.99 (AED 128.52).

iHerb ships worldwide by the way. It ships from US, ultra fast. Use the code SCZ695 on your first purchase to receive an instant discount of upto $10.

Have you tried any of Mad Hippie’s skincare products?. If yes, do leave me a comment below.

How was your September?. Mine was pretty hectic I should say. Preparing to go to India, blogging day and night to schedule posts ahead of time.. Man!. I dunno how I did it :P. It was my husband’s birthday on the 21st and my family came over to celebrate it together. They brought a gorgeous cake too :). It was the Praline Berry Splendor ice cream cake from Baskin Robbins. Yum!

bday cake

All three of these bloggers were perfect to collab with to do this tag because of our shared love for beauty products. Do check out these awesome bloggers and show them love by subscribing to them 🙂

On to the questions!

1) Greed: What is your most inexpensive beauty product? What is your most expensive beauty product?

A : My most inexpensive beauty product is the Eyetex Dazzler liquid black eyeliner, costing only Rs.35 (AED2.13)!. It’s an Indian brand and one that I am super impressed with. It’s quality and intense color is just amazing. I keep going back to this brand and purchase one almost every year when I go to India for vacation.

The most expensive beauty product I own is the Foreo Luna, a phenomenal skincare tool costing $208.90 (AED 767.31)!. It is a great addition to my skincare routine and one that I am so glad I invested in!. Read my detailed review by clicking here.

Blogpix 035

2) Wrath: What beauty product do you have a love/hate relationship with?

Blush!. I love how blush can make someone look like a picture of glowing health but I still haven’t yet figured out how to apply it well. Sometimes it looks good by fluke, sometimes it makes me look like a clown. I have a blush palette from Mikyajy that I bought some time ago. It’s the Blush Delights palette, worth about AED 145. I use only couple of the darker plum colors from it. Once I figure out how to get it’s application right every single time, this will no longer be a love/hate relationship 😀

Sevensins 002

3) Gluttony: What are your most delicious beauty products?

Three products come to my mind immediately, when I think of the word ‘delicious’. These three smell amazing. Click the links for reviews :

Sevensins 013

4) Sloth: What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

Eye primer/eyeshadow base!. I am pretty lazy when it comes to using that. To my defense, let me say that I am not much of an eyeshadow fan. Even if I wear them, it’s for a short time. I am not looking for a lasting look. When I do use it, which is pretty rare, I go for Elf’s eyeshadow primer in ‘Sheer’, which costs $3 (AED 11.02).

Sevensins 010

5) Pride: What beauty product gives you the most self-confidence?

Liquid eyeliners!. I love them so deeply. I wear it every single day whether I am going out or not!. I love highlighting my eyes, as I feel it’s my best feature. A winged eyeliner brings all attention to the eyes :). After bathing, that’s one of the main things I reach for. Here are some of my favorites :

Sevensins 007

  • Eyetex Dazzler liquid eyeliner – This is not a waterproof liner. It can be easily washed off. Just the kind I love!. It’s perfect for daily wear!. Costs Rs.35 (AED2.13) for 6.5 ml.
  • Kohl – The one I own is a no name brand from India. The finish it offers is bold and dark. It costs about AED 2.50.
  • Rimmel London Soft Kohl eyeliner pencil – It’s a nice one and costs AED18.
  • Maybelline Colossal Kajal – This one has an intense black color and is perfect for the waterline. It’s AED 25.
  • Avon Super Shock gel eyeliner – This one gives a soft and creamy look. It believe it was AED 47. It’s been a while since I have had it.

6) Lust: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

When I see a guy, what I take notice of, is his hairstyle, height and broad shoulders!.  I like tall people. It’s true looks matter since that’s what you judge a person by, the very first time you see them. Obviously, you wouldn’t know someone’s character by looking at them, right?. Once I get to know them, what I love is their intelligence, sense of humor and caring nature. I am so blessed to have a tall and handsome husband. Touchwood!. He is 5ft 10, has broad shoulders, has a great hairstyle, makes me laugh (at times only. Other times, I just wanna kill him :P) and cares extremely for me ♥

7) Envy: What products would you most like to receive as a gift?

Oh well…. where do I begin! :P. I love gifts. I love just about anything meaningful and useful but there are four types of gifts that make my heart flutter:

  • Perfumes : I LOVE perfumes. Soft and sensual is my scent preference. My favorite high end one is Hypnose by Lancome (which is in the AED 300s range)  and favorite low end one is Time Bomb (which is AED30). I am currently lusting for Escada Especially Elixir, of which I got a sample in the July Glambox.

  • Skincare products: I am a skincare product junkie. I can never have enough of it. I love being gifted products that are suited for my skin type, which is normal/dry. Currently, I am lusting for Wedderspoon Organic’s Queen of the Hive face contour mask, which contains bee venom and Manuka honey!. It’s pretty expensive, has rave reviews and hopefully one day I’ll have it too..

  • Handmade things : These are from the heart, creative and thoughtful!. I have been gifted several handmade cards and even a painted mug in the past. Simply love it!

I now tag the following people to do this tag :

1) Daania of Serendipity Happens

2) Deena of Deenass88

3) Kate of Sleeping Bootay

4) Monica of Impressions of a Princess

5) Praseena of Coral Crue

I hope you all loved this tag and my answers to it. Do let me know what your answers are to these questions in the comments section below.

Review: Foreo Luna!

Hi all!

It’s no secret that I love taking care of my skin. I have been wanting to take my skincare regimen to the next level for some time now (couple of years actually!). End of 2013, I got to know about the a revolutionary skincare product – Foreo Luna!.

I was instantly interested. The more I knew about it, the more I wanted it in my life. So in March 2014, I placed an order for it!. I have been using it since then. So this review is based on 5 months of it’s usage.

Before we get ahead with the review let me tell you that my skin type is normal, leaning towards dry in winters. I opted for the Pink Foreo Luna which is for Sensitive / Normal skin type. The other two options were White for Ultra – sensitive skin and Blue for Combination skin.

What is Foreo Luna? – It is a cleansing device which takes your regular cleansing routine to the next level, giving you deep daily cleansing experience, leaving your skin looking radiant and youthful.

Blogpix 029On opening the box, this is what you see. I love the packaging!

What all does a Foreo Luna come along with?

  • An authenticity card
  • A charger
  • A cute pouch
  • A user manual
  • A quick guide as to hoe to use it

Blogpix 030

Blogpix 036Luna has two sides to it. One is the cleansing side, which has nonabrasive, rounded silicone touch points on it, which glides across your face to ensure the whole process is soft and gentle. T-Sonic™ (transdermal sonic) pulsations are applied across the dermal surface to instantly refresh the look and feel of the skin. These pulsations are channeled through the silicone touch-points, removing dead skin cells, and cleansing pores of dirt, oil and makeup residue, while improving the absorption of your skincare products.

The reverse side is the anti-aging side. It has ridges there and the frequency of T-Sonic™ pulsations produced by this side is lower than the cleansing side. This side is to be applied to five areas on your skin, where lines form as you age. The lower frequency will release the muscle tension in these areas, increase the production of collagen, diminish lines and wrinkles and make your skin more elastic.

Usage of Foreo Luna – Here are the step by step directions as to how I use it

1) First, I wet my face and then apply my cleanser. I noticed that using a foaming cleanser delivers the ultimate result for me. My favorite is Olay Total Effetcs Foaming Cleanser. Another cleanser that has worked well with my Luna is Neutrogena’s Deep Clean cleanser.

2) I click the power button to switch on the Luna. It starts pulsating. I start at my chin and go in upwards motion onto my cheeks and along my jawline. After 15 seconds, there is a pause in the pulsation and that’s when you know that it’s time to move onto the next side. It’s easy to miss this ‘pause’ if you are really not looking out for it. The first time I used it, I was literally just gliding it all over my face since I didn’t really know when the pauses came!. What’s interesting is that there is an LED light at the bottom of the device. With each pause, it flashes once. So concentrate on that the first time and you will know when the pauses come.

3) I use it on my forehead for 15 seconds. It pauses then.

4) I use it on and around my nose for 15 seconds. The tip of the ergonomically created Luna is perfect to clean the sides of the nose.

5) For the last 15 seconds, I gently glide it across the upper cheek bone, under both the eyes.

6) When the last 15 seconds is up, you will feel the pulsations pause 3 times in quick succession. That means the one minute of cleansing is over. However, unless you press the middle button it doesn’t stop. I actually use the Luna on my neck for about 30 seconds and then press the power button. The light at the base turns on. This is now in stand by mode.

7) I wash my face and the Luna. The Luna is completely water proof!.

8) I carry on with my skin care routine, applying products and all. Once I have applied my serum, I press the middle button of the Foreo again and this time, it’s the anti aging side that starts to pulsate. I relax my face completely and press the ridged side to the 5 key areas mentioned before. Each area gets 12 seconds. So that makes it one minute of anti-aging treatment!. It’s a very relaxing experience and you can really feel the tensions getting released. After the one minute is up, again you will feel the pulsations pause 3 times in quick succession.

9) I then press the power button once more and the device switches off.

More details about Luna –

  • After the cleansing mode or the anti aging mode, if you keep your device on stand by mode for more than 3 minutes, it automatically switches off.
  • When charging, the LED light at the bottom of the device keeps pulsating. Once it stops, you will know it’s fully charged.
  • A fully charged Luna can be used upto 450 times before you need to charge it again!. Since the initial charging, I haven’t charged it again in these past 5 months!
  • Once you get your Foreo Luna, I highly suggest you download it’s user manual from their site. It’s very useful. Click here to download it.
  • Foreo offers a quality guarantee of 10 years!. It really does lay the foundation for a life time of beautiful skin!
  • Foreo Luna has 8 speeds. You can set it at any speed and each time you switch it on, the device will remember your choice. I set it around 5.
  • Foreo Luna helps in removing makeup completely from your skin. However, you cannot skip the usage of makeup removers. You do need to use a makeup remover to clean your makeup and then use the Luna to get the final remnants of makeup off your face.
  • Foreo Luna is a personal skincare device. You shouldn’t share it with anyone else.
  • Foreo is so travel friendly and fits into your palm. While traveling, you can lock the device. To lock, simply press the + and – buttons on either side of the power button together and hold it for 3 seconds. To unlock, repeat the same action.

My experience!

I have got to say, I have good skin. Touchwood!. I am not boasting!. I have a solid skincare routine that I have been following religiously for some years now. I wanted to see how this device could take my skin to a better place. It felt like I was challenging the power of this device!.

It says on it’s site that you will find a difference in just 3 days. For me it actually took a week to notice a difference. That difference was extremely soft skin!. Also, my skin has a more brighter look. It felt really good and I still enjoy that feeling.

I cannot recommend this product enough!!. You really need to check it out. If you have problem skin then I am sure you will feel the difference much earlier than the one week period it took for me.

Price: $199 (AED730.93)

Shipment: The shipping fee is $9.90 (AED36.36). It was shipped right to my doorstep by UPS courier. I placed the order on 15th March and on 22nd March it was in my hands!. Foreo is designed and developed by Foreo Sweden but manufactured in China. So it was shipped from there.

I hope you loved my review. Before, I wrap up the post, I got a bit more to talk about how I decided on buying this and some comparison:

Foreo and Clarisonic

I obviously do not own a Clarisonic. So this comparison is based on what I have researched on and found out. As I told at the beginning this post, I had been wanting a beauty device for couple of years now. I had been eyeing the Clarisonic Mia 2 and the more videos I watched by YT beauty gurus the more I wanted that. At that time, I didn’t know it was available in the local Sephora store. I thought it’s only available online on It was ridiculously priced there. Good models were definitely above AED800. The price held me back. Also the Clarisonic US website didn’t ship internationally.

That’s when Foreo made a grand entrance. I compared these both and these facts really made me favor Foreo over Clarisonic!

  • Foreo doesn’t have any brush heads that need to be replaced. Clarisonic’s brush heads need to be replaced every 3 months which means the initial investment you make for that device is just the beginning!. You will need to keep paying more to use it. However, Foreo is a one time investment.
  • Foreo is really hygienic. The silicone device doesn’t offer an environment for bacteria to proliferate. However, the Clarisonic’s brush head gets dirty over time and can harbor bacteria.
  • I felt Clarisonic’s brush might be more abrasive when compared to Foreo’s soft and gentle silicone touch points.

So once I decided it’s Foreo I was opting for, I had another comparison to make!

Foreo Luna and Foreo Mini

Foreo comes in different models. Two of them are Foreo Luna and Foreo Mini. The Foreo Mini comes in very funky colors that really attracted me and is priced at $139, which is $60 lesser than Luna. But I pondered over it for several days before opting for the Luna!. Comparisons as follows:

  • Luna has an anti aging side, Mini doesn’t. I am all about anti-aging!. This was the first and main point that I was completely sold on Luna.
  • Luna is bigger than Mini. Mini, as it’s name suggests, is small. I initially felt the shape of the Foreo to be very strange. If it was small, I felt it might slip off my hand (though it doesn’t). Anyways, I felt Luna would be better to hold on to. So I ordered it and now I feel the size of Luna is perfect and if it was smaller than that, I might not have liked it much.

I remain happy with my choice. It’s a stunning device!. What are your thoughts on beauty devices and if you own Foreo, let me know your thoughts below 🙂

Review: Skin Drink from Lush!

Lush is a brand everyone is familiar with. It’s natural, organic and cruelty free. I have been a fan of it since I tried their fresh face mask Oatifix about 2.5 years ago. That mask contained fresh bananas, fine oatmeal, ground almonds and more. My skin felt amazing using it!.

But today’s review is about Skin Drink, which is a facial moisturizer. What attracted me the most to this product is that it contains fresh Avocados and Aloe vera. These both are immensely beneficial to our skin. My skin type is normal but leaning towards dry. So, I felt this would be a perfect addition to my skincare routine. I have been using this product for a little over 2 months now and am only half way into the tub as you can see below. It lasts a LONG time and a little goes a long way.

LushSkinDrink 003

The product is very creamy, rich yet light and gets easily absorbed into the skin. It leaves your skin feeling satin like and supple. I have got to say, it’s a bit on the oilier side than most facial moisturizers, because of the wide variety of oils incorporated into it. When used alone, it doesn’t show up a lot though. But when I combined it with other products in my skincare routine, I got a slightly oily shine on my face in the end. It definitely isn’t greasy though.

You can use it anytime of the day however I use it in the night. Though it gives me a shiny face at night, in the morning, I wake up to beautifully hydrated and supple face!.

The dominant smell of this product is that of sesame, because of the organic sesame oil in it!. The color is beige. It looks and smells exactly like tahini!. Inorder to tone down the nutty smell, they have added infusion of fresh rose petals, rose absolute and neroli essential oil. Still, some might find the smell too strong. However, I like sesame’s smell and thus overall, I found it to be pleasant. The smell doesn’t linger on for long anyway.

I received a book called ‘Fresh Matters’ along with this product. Oh my god!. I love this book. It lists ALL the products of Lush, it’s ingredients and it’s usage directions.

LushSkinDrink 002

LushSkinDrink 001

I am in awe of the wonderful organic products incorporated into this face moisturizer!. The ingredients are : Organic sesame oil, Avocados, Fresh Rose Petal Infusion, Almond Oil, Cocoa Butter, Aloe Vera Extract, Organic Aloe Vera Gel, Evening Primrose Oil , Neroli Oil and Rose Absolute (derived from Damask roses)!.

It comes in a black plastic tub, unique to Lush. I always love products that come with a pump, so that it’s totally hygienic. However, in this case, I don’t quite mind that the packaging is so simplistic, since Lush is into recycling and being more eco-friendly, which I really respect. I just make sure my fingers are absolutely clean before dipping into it. The tub contains 45gms and costs AED135. You can purchase this either online at or in one of their numerous stores here in UAE or worldwide.

If you are on the lookout for a hydrating and protecting facial moisturizer, this is the one to go for. I highly recommend it. Your skin won’t be disappointed!. From reviews I read even before getting this product, I believe this is good for all skin types, though personally I feel it’s best for dry skin. My skin is normal at the moment but dry in winters. I can’t wait to use this in winter and am sure at that time, it wont feel to be on the oilier side.

Have you tried Skin Drink?. What is your favorite Lush product?. Leave me a comment below 🙂
