My Bathtime / Body care routine!

Hiya!

Friends and followers equally loved and supported when I published my night time and day time skincare routines. So, I thought, why not do a bathtime / body care routine post and also show you the products I use!. It’s absolutely important to take care of your skin. This particular routine is not specific to winter. It’s the same all year round. I have normal skin by the way, which leans towards dry in winter.

My routine is split into two : One routine is for 5 days a week and the other is for 2 days a week. The key to the entire routine is ‘exfoliation’. Gentle exfoliation and conditioning for five days and intense exfoliation for two.

Five day routine

bodycare1

I dry brush my body using a dry body brush before stepping into the shower. Since I have started dry body brushing, I have noticed a huge difference in my skin. It exfoliates dead skin cells away and increases blood circulation thus revealing glowing new skin. It’s really up to you how many days you wish to do it. I think five is perfect. I bought this Merben International dry body brush from Amazon for $26.46 (AED 97.19).

Once in shower, I use shower gels / shower creams. I love them more than bar soaps. I use a shower puff to help exfoliate. Both dry brushing and using the shower puff are gentle forms of exfoliation and thus doing them on the same day, does not aggravate your skin in any way. I use a selection of different products, just to keep it interesting. Here are some of the shower gels I use / finished using recently :

  • Nivea Powerfruit Relax shower gel – I quite like this range of Nivea’s shower gel. This particular one has Acai Berry scent and blueberry antioxidants in it. It smells like a berry juice. It is purple in color. Price : AED 12.70 for 250ml.
  • Nivea Water Lily & oil shower gel – This one is light pink in color and has yellow colored micro beads suspended in it. It’s pretty to see. The micro beads are oil pearls. It’s scent is that of water lily which is a very pleasant and feminine smell. Price : AED 12.70 for 250ml.
  • Dove Deeply Nourishing shower cream – This is my absolute favorite one. I already have a back up of this ready to use. It’s creamy and absolutely nourishing. It’s scent is refreshing and uplifting. I highly recommend you try it out. Price : AED 16.75 for 250ml.
  • Sebamed Olive Face & Body Wash – This is very gentle and mild, being soap and alkali free. It can be used on your face too. It is so gentle and chemical free that it can be used for bathing babies and by those with sensitive skin. It has a light scent and is cream in color. Price : AED 31.50 for 400ml.
  • The Face Shop Green Tea mild body wash – This is a an antioxidant rich body wash with Korean green tea and olive oil in it. It is gentle and great for the skin. Price : AED 40 for 300ml.
  • Shower puff – I got mine from The Face Shop. It’s really great. You can buy shower puffs from even local supermarkets for really cheap prices. However, I suggest you buy from a store like this one. It lasts for a longer time and is tightly woven together. I hang mine in the bathroom so that it dries well after every use. Price : AED 15.

After that I wash off the shower gel and apply a generous amount of Nivea In Shower Body lotion. This eliminates the need for applying a body lotion once I step out of the bathroom. The best time to apply body lotion is right after your shower, when your skin is in the most recipient state. Price of this body lotion is AED 19.25 for 400ml. After that, I just wash it off, dry my skin and step out of the shower.

Two day routine

bodycare4

On Mondays and Thursdays, the same days that I use scrub on my face too, I scrub my body. I start with the Tree Hut’s Shea Sugar Scrub, which I bought from Amazon, paying $17.94 (AED 65.89) for three tubs, each containing 510 gms. It is an excellent scrub. I am using my second tub right now. I personally think sugar scrubs are much better than salt scrubs. But if salt scrubs are your thing, I would suggest using a scrub with Himalayan salt in it. It’s great for the skin.

Using a scrub really makes your skin so soft and glowing. I always scrub in an upward direction to stimulate blood flow. It’s the same concept of doing dry body brushing. Once I wash it off, I apply a body mask. I am currently using Izil’s Re-Mineralizing body mask, which costs AED 95 for a tub containing 150 gms. This mask really hydrates the body and the scent of Damask roses is amazing. Then I wash it off after 10 minutes. After this, sometimes I use a bar soap or on some lazy days, I just wash off the mask and step out of the shower. If I do use a soap, my current favorites are:

  • Dove – My favorite soap ever!. It feels so gentle on the skin and makes your skin supple and soft. I also like a variant of Dove which has Shea butter in it, but I didn’t have it on me to click a pic of. Price : AED 4.75 for 100gms
  • Lux Silk Sensation, which has olive oil in it and Lux Secret Bliss, which has Egyptian Violet & Elemi oil in it. I love the scent of this one. Price : AED 4 for 170 gms

After stepping out of the shower, I use one of the body lotions / body creams that I have. I have many at any given time, because I believe moisturization is key and love to try out different brands/products. Here are the ones I currently use / are recent empties :

bodycare2

  • The Face Shop Green Tea body lotion – A really gentle and pleasant smelling lotion. It’s perfect for those with sensitive skin too. It has Korean green tea and olive oil just like the body wash from the same range. Price : AED 50 for 300ml.
  • Vaseline lotions – I like lotions from Vaseline and recently reviewed four of them. They are easy to work with and has a great fast absorbing consistency. Price : Between AED 11.95 – AED 13.50 for 200ml
  • Avocado oil – Especially during winter, our skin tends to like oil more than body lotions since it’s more nourishing. Avocado oil in particular is extremely hydrating. It’s one of my favorite oils. I bought this Now Foods avocado oil from online for $5.34 (AED 19.61) for 118ml.
  • The Body Shop Shea beautifying oil – Frankly, I am not a fan of it. But I am using it, so that I can finish it off, since I hate wastage of anything plus it’s smell is nice. Price : AED 65 for 100ml.
  • Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction body lotion – Where do I start on this!. The smell of it is absolutely heavenly and sensuous. It’s intensely hydrating. It has Aloe, Oats, Grapeseed extracts and Vitamins E and C in it. It’s easily one of my absolute favorites of my entire life. Thanks to Sally for gifting this to me ♥. Price : AED 56 for 250 ml.
  • Stress relief Aromatherapy body lotion from Bath & Body Works : This lotion has Eucalyptus and Spearmint essential oils in it that makes it soothing and uplifting. It is of a thin consistency and gets easily absorbed into the skin. I don’t suggest you use this one if you have sensitive / extremely dry skin. It could irritate your skin. I quite like it though. It’s bottle is made of glass and is gorgeous and classy. Price : AED 45 for 192 ml. It’s priced the same all throughout the year and never featured in their sales.
  • Dove Essential Nourishment & Dove Purely pampering body creams : I got the purely pampering one with Shea butter in it, in a Glambox. The other one, which is the original one, I had bought from Lulu Centre. These are nourishing but with the original one, though it gets absorbed super fast and feels nourishing in the beginning, it tends to leave your skin feeling a tad dry like 5 mins later. I don’t know why that happens. It is especially so in winter. I don’t highly recommend these but you might still try it since it might perform differently on your skin!. Price : AED 12.75 for 150ml.
  • Jergens Soothing Aloe body moisturizer : This is another one of my absolute favorites. It’s scent is so calming and beautiful. It’s perfect for sensitive skin. It is non – sticky and comforting. I highly recommend you try this out. Price : AED 17.65 for 400ml. More often times than not, this one is featured in an offer whereby you get 20% off when you buy two or buy two and get one free. I stock up on one of these sales. I have never bought just a single piece of it. Those sales are happening almost throughout the year!. So, look out for that and do give this a try.
  • Dove Essential Nourishment body lotion – This lotion is so nourishing, perfect for winter. It’s fast absorbing and really hydrating. The effect of it seems to last a long while. My skin feels really soft while using it. I will be buying this again when it gets over. I definitely recommend you check it out too. Price : AED 15.95 for 250ml.

So that’s my two day routine. During daytime, I like using these body lotions or the in shower body lotion. However, during night, just before heading to bed, I believe in heavy moisturizing and that’s why I like to use body butters / heavy body creams. Also, during the day I like to use the same body lotion on my hands and feet however during night I like to use specific creams for hands and feet. Here they are:

Night time routine

bodycare3

For hands:

  • Figs & Rouge Cherry Blossom hand cream – This one smells amazing and is intensely hydrating. LOVE it!. Price : AED 45 for a tube containing 80ml.
  • Caudalie Hands & Nail cream – I got this sample from a Glambox. It’s 15 ml. It’s nourishing and is antioxidant rich. It smells like grapefruits / citrusy. Price : AED 90 for 75ml (full sized version).

For feet :

  • Herbline Essentials Foot cream : It’s the most phenomenal foot cream I have ever used. It brings a long lasting effect. Price : AED 52 for a 150 ml tube.
  • Krack Heel Repair cream : This is an Ayurvedic cream and it’s an Indian brand. This one is OK. I kept using it until I came across the Herbline Essentials foot cream. I kind of got hooked on to it then!. But, I really want to finish off this Krack cream. I reach for it sometimes. This cream is a muddy brown, has a unique herbal scent to it and absorbs into the skin fast. Price : AED 9.95 for 50 gms.

For body :

  • Bath & Body Works Coconut Lime Breeze body butter : This one is intensely nourishing and has such a bouncy soft texture. Once again, I don’t recommend you buy any B & BWs creams/body butters if you have sensitive / extremely dry skin. I bought this in the last B & BW sale. Sale price : AED 30 for 200gms.
  • Maui Hibiscus Beach Triple Moisture Body cream : I quite love this heavy body cream. It smells amazing and is very nourishing. I bought this in the same B & BW sale I just mentioned. Sale price : AED 30 for 226 gms.
  • The Body Shop Chocomania body butter : I love this one’s chocolate like smell. I reviewed a bigger tub back in 2012. But the one now (my third tub) is a 50ml one. Price : AED 25

Heavily moisturizing at night means you wake up with soft and hydrated skin. I would also like to suggest you try out a Moroccan Bath once. I have tried it twice at spas and you will leave that place feeling extremely soft. If you follow this routine, not necessarily with so many products, I guarantee you that you will have the softest skin ever and can get rid of body acne forever!

I hope the sheer length of this post, does not confuse you. If you need any clarifications, I am happy to help. Do leave a comment below and let me know if you love the same products as I do or any suggestions of new brands that are your favorites and you would like me to try out!

My day time skincare routine!

Hello 🙂

I quite recently did a skincare regimen basics/anti-aging night time skincare routine post. If you haven’t read that yet please do read it before continuing to read this post, since I won’t be explaining certain things I have already explained before. FYI : My skin type is normal, leaning towards dry (during winters).

Now, to those who have been waiting for this follow up post, let’s go ahead. My day time anti aging skincare routine is simple when compared to the night time routine. Sometimes I don’t even do all the steps I have mentioned below. I skip some and stay extremely basic: that is just CTM (Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize). To say the truth, I give uttermost importance to my nighttime routine and never skip anything that time :P. However, when I do perform all the steps, this is how the morning routine looks like:

Step 1 – Face wash

The first thing that I use when I wake up, is a good face wash. Whatever products are remaining on my face from yesterday night’s routine needs to be washed off, so as to start the day anew. I love the Olay Total Effects Age Defying face wash, which is a gentle product that’s great for daily use. It costs AED 33.25 for 150ml. It lasts a really long time.

IMG_1281-1

Step 2 – Cleanse

Once I go about my daily chores, I bathe and then continue on with my routine. I apply the Olay Total Effects Age Defying Milk on to a cotton pad and sweep it across my face in an upward circular motion. Even after having taken a bath, you would be surprised to find traces of dirt on the cotton pad. This cleanser is very gentle yet removes hidden impurities from your pores and gives you really clean and radiant looking skin. I can safely say that though I love my Olay Total Effects products, this one is my absolute favorite out of all of them. It costs AED 31.75 for a 200ml bottle. I then wash my face (or sometimes I just spray water onto a new cotton pad and clean the cleanser off).

IMG_1282

Step 3 – Tone

Using a toner is important to keep your pores tight, remove impurities from them that the cleanser didn’t and to maintain the ph level of your skin. I use a DIY Apple Cider Vinegar toner, the same as the one I use at night. I spray it 5 times onto a cotton pad and gently go over my face/neck. I don’t wash my face after applying the toner, instead I go to the next step.

Skincare2

Step 4 – Application of serum

Serum has the ability to penetrate into the deeper layers of your skin, working wonders in those layers where the moisturizer doesn’t reach. I use the Ponds Age Miracle Intensive Cell Regen™ Super SerumIt costs AED 49.50 for a bottle containing 30ml. I am absolutely in love with this serum. I cannot recommend it enough to you!. I love it so much that after my Olay serum gets over, I will be using this at night too. Also, I wont be repurchasing the Olay serum. This Ponds product is much superior in it’s performance and my skin absolutely loves it!. I am on my second bottle so far in this year. The first one was given for review purpose and the current one I am on was purchased by me.

IMG_1284

Step 5 – Application of eye cream

I am using the Ponds Age Miracle Dual Action Eye Cream. It costs AED 44.95 for a container of 20ml. This is a really nice one. I use the Eye-o-sonic by Michael Todd’s True Organics to apply it.

blogpix-002

Step 6 – Application of lip balm

Lips need more protection in the mornings. Even if you are staying inside the house, it would be great to wear a product that has SPF. I use the VLCC Cocoa Butter Lip Shield with SPF 10 in it. I bought this about 2 years ago from Manama Supermarket, Sharjah. I haven’t really seen this product in Lulu Center or Carrefour. I believe it cost me AED 7.50 and the little container is about 15 or 20ml. It is a light salmon color in the tub, however when you apply it on the lips it gives a transparent, balm like healthy sheen to it. It smells of cocoa butter and I love it.

IMG_1288

Step 7 – Application of moisturizer

This is the very last step. I use the Olay Total Effects Day Moisturizer. It costs AED 51.25 for a bottle containing 50ml. It has SPF 15. Even if you are sitting t home, you should wear a cream with SPF in it. I love the pump on the bottle. It is so convenient and hygienic to use.

IMG_1291

Three additional things I do in the mornings are scrub, masks and peel.

Scrub

Scrubs are crucial in a routine. It gets rid of dead skin cells from the surface of the skin and gives a radiant look. The more dead skin cells build up on your skin, the more dull it looks. Even though you might now think “Radiant skin, here I come! I am so gonna scrub my face every day”, let me stop you right there. Scrubs should never be used more than twice a week. If you do, more than doing good, you will harm your skin and cause miniature lacerations in the skin that you can’t even see. That will cause red, inflamed and irritated skin. I use scrubs every Monday and Thursday. I set the specific days since days fly by and sometimes I lose track of it. If I don’t set them, I keep wondering when was the last time I used it. “Was it within this week or end of last week?”. You get my point!. On the days that I use this, I don’t use the face wash.

IMG_1285

My absolute favorite scrub is the Himalaya Herbals Walnut scrub with natural antioxidants. It smells amazing and does a really great job. After using it, my skin literally glows. It says on the tube it’s gentle, however I disagree. It’s a hardcore scrub. It costs AED 23.25 for 150 ml. Recently though, I saw it on sale for AED 19.25!. I grabbed it and this is now my back up. I don’t use any other scrubs on my face. This is my one and only as of right now!

Masks/Facials

I am inconsistent with using masks. If I am in the mood and I do it daily, I go for my DIY anti-aging facial. Otherwise, I do a mask probably once or twice a week (depends on my mood). Currently, I am loving Freeman’s Anti Stress mask with dead sea minerals. It’s costs AED 16.25 for 150 ml. This is a blue colored mask which really brightens the skin. This mask is good for all skin types.

IMG_1292

I also go to a salon once in two – three months and get a professional facial. I go for either Kaya whitening facial (not because I am looking to achieve fairness but because this facial was suggested by the esthetician and really makes my skin radiant), Pearl facial or Papaya fruit facial. These work great for normal/dry skin.

Peel

Peels are great for achieving radiant looking skin. I started doing it after I got the Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel system. I still have it and use it occasionally. Again, I have set days for it. I do it every Saturdays and Tuesdays. Once this gets over, I will repurchase it from Amazon, since it’s a phenomenal product. It costs $16.19 (AED59.46) plus shipping charges. I have never done a professional chemical peel at a salon.

So, all in all, here is a shot which shows all my daytime products 🙂

iHerb haul #3 – the ‘Cure all’ oil!

Hey guys!

I am back with another iHerb haul!. I am in LOVE with that site ♥. Recently, a good friend of mine, Abidha of Abidha Ayyoob’s blog, told me how beneficial the black seed oil is. I was quite intrigued and did some research on it. One of the main things that caught my eye everywhere is this:

“Hold on to the use of the black seed for indeed it has a remedy for every disease except death.” – Prophet Muhammad (S)

Wow!!. How amazing is that?. So many years ago itself, it was considered to be so beneficial and a cure all!. There are many seeds that go by the name of black seed but the one that is being discussed here today, the one which has all the great properties, is the black cumin seed – particularly Nigella Sativa. In Arabic cultures, black cumin is known as Habbatul barakah, meaning the “seed of blessing.” You can even find cheap black cumin seed oil in local supermarkets here but let me tell you, that’s not the original stuff!. Research well before you buy!

It is great for your skin, your health, your hair, for weight loss and is said to even cure diabetes or cancer in the first stages!. I decided to give it a try and searched around for it. I found a local dealer here in UAE who was into selling this oil from the brand Sweet Sunnah. I asked the price for three bottles (each 16oz/approx 473ml) and he quoted me AED 540 (AED180 per bottle) plus AED10 delivery charge to my home. That’s AED550 for roughly 1.5 litres!. I searched online and found that a 16oz bottle of Sweet Sunnah is priced only approx AED91!. So the dealer here was charging me double for each bottle!. I definitely didn’t want to buy from him!.

I then searched on Amazon and found really great prices. I was fixated on the brand Sweet Sunnah but then I found another brand called Amazing Herbs. It was priced $13.96 (AED51.28) for a 4oz (240ml) bottle. So 6 such bottles (total of approx 1.5 litres) will cost me $83.76 (AED307.66) plus shipping. I was excited!. But that’s when I found out something else. Amazon doesn’t ship that product to UAE :(. That’s one of the worst things about Amazon. Not everything you see there can be shipped to UAE. Need help with ordering on Amazon and knowing how to understand what products are OK to be shipped to UAE?. Click here!

That’s when I thought.. “Wait a minute!. Everything I see on iHerb can be shipped to UAE and they are all about healthy products. So definitely the black seed oil should be listed there!”. I immediately checked there and yes! I found the exact same product there :). Click here to check out the product.

However, there was a rate difference. Usually, when I have compared iHerb to Amazon, the price has always been lower on iHerb but this time it wasn’t. A 4oz (240ml) bottle of black seed oil from Amazing Herbs, cost $19.49, which is $5.53 more than the rate on Amazon… Ugh!. What a bummer!. However, I was adamant that I wanted this oil. So I decided to buy anyways and added them to my cart. The total was $116.94 (AED429.53). However, since my bill total is more than $60, I received a 5% off :D. The amount came down to $111.09 (AED408.04)!. The shipping was $11.52 (AED42.31). So grand total of AED450.35!. Just imagine if I had just bought from the local dealer here, I would have paid AED550 for the same amount of product!. That’s AED100 more!. Whoa!. So yes, I got a great deal from iHerb ♥

On to the pix!

Blog pix 029That’s how it was packed into a cardboard box. Very neatly packed!

Blog pix 031They carefully packed two bottles each in a ziplock bag.

I bought 6 bottles by the way, so that I can give two to my father, two to my brother and keep two for myself!. My father has been a diabetic patient for a long time. So I thought I will let him try it out. He said for a while his sugar levels seemed under control. He was also taking the diabetic herbal tea I got for him from iHerb itself, at that time. Of late, he hasn’t been taking it regularly. So I can’t really say how his sugar levels are right now. I even read somewhere that the black seed oil is a natural alternative for the medicine named Metformin, which diabetic patients take. But, don’t quote me on that as obviously I am not a doctor!

I bought for my brother so that he can maintain a healthy body. I bought for myself for the same reason too. Also, I read that it helps regularize periods and I totally agree!. I had a hormonal imbalance which caused irregular periods. It’s regularized now!. OMG.. This is TMI but hey got to discuss it all in an honest review yeah?.

I lost two kilos too while taking this. I been taking it since April this year. It really works!. I still haven’t tried it on my hair though. I usually take 1 tbsp of it right in the morning on empty stomach. It is a golden yellow colored. It has a very strong, pungent flavor and there is an after taste that can stay on for a long time. You can take it in capsule form too if you cannot stand the thought of having oil directly. However, the unrefined oil is said to be at least 2.5 times more powerful than having them in capsule form. When you have 1 tbsp honey with this oil, it enhances the healing properties of the oil.

What I love the most about Amazing Herbs is that it says right on the bottle that it contains only 100% freshly cold-pressed and unrefined virgin black cumin (Nigella Sativa) oil from organic sources!. No preservatives, solvent or alcohol in it. I highly recommend this brand. When you open the black cap, it’s sealed inside too, so you don’t have to worry about any spilling at all during transportation!.

Blog pix 033

Blog pix 034

Let me make it clear to you that it’s not just Muslims who use this oil for it’s benefits!. Everyone from all religions and parts of this world uses it, as is evident by all the customer reviews on iHerb for this product!

I will tell you this, if you have some trouble like say asthma, cold and flu, joint pains or anything at all like that that bothers you on a regular basis, search on Google as to how black cumin seed oil can heal that and you will find a remedy!. Even if you are the most healthiest person and has no illness at all, you can still take this to maintain that level of health.

Shipping

The shipping cost was $11.52 (AED 42.31) as I said before. I chose the DHL option and it was here in UAE at my doorstep, from US in less than 2 days!!. It’s amazing how fast they ship!.

I LOVE iHerb!. What a fantastic site ♥

Recently, Sally of Canadian Sassy Sally, bought some products from iHerb after I suggested it to her and this is what she had to say about how fast the shipping was : “wowwwwwwwwww INSANE!!!

That’s how fast iHerb ships!. I highly suggest you try it out and when you use my code SCZ695 at checkout you can get upto $10 off on your very first order!

Review: Olay Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel system! (Amazon purchase #2)

Hello you guys!

In Jan, I was browsing through Amazon, which is one of my favorite sites ever for online shopping, when I came across an Olay product that I have never seen in the UAE market. It’s a microdermabrasion and peel system from the Regenerist range.

FYI: my skin type is normal, leaning towards dry at times

I love Olay. It’s an amazing brand. 90% of my skincare products are from this brand. I currently use Olay Total Effects range. I understand that the Regenerist range of products is best for 30+ aged people. However, this one product I saw really tempted me. I have never done microdermabrasion in my life, either with at-home products or professionally. I researched more about this product, read reviews and all that. Then I finally decided to buy it!. Here is more about this product, which came in a cardboard box:

20140125_133657

The Olay Regenerist M & P system is an advanced specialty treatment, which promises to do the following:

  • Resurface skin’s texture
  • Activate surface cell renewal
  • Balance skin tone
  • Regenerate skin’s appearance
  • Condition skin to leave it feeling soft and smooth
  • Diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

What’s not to like about it!!. The box contains two products – The Microdermabrasion treatment and the Peel Activator serum.

20140125_133828

The microdermabrasion treatment with derma-crystals, comes in a tub. It has a thick yet liquid like consistency. But every bit of it is made up of very fine crystals. It’s yellow in color and has a very nice pleasant smell. The tub contains 64 gms. It has a peel off cover when you open the lid:

20140125_133931

On opening that, here is what you see..

20140125_134154

The peel activator serum contains lactic acid. This is a natural AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) found in sour milk. AHAs are excellent for anti aging and definitely gives the six benefits, which I mentioned above, that this system promises to do. That’s one of reasons I trusted this system/product would really work.

The serum is colorless and syrupy in consistency. It has a fruit like smell. Something like bananas. It’s definitely pleasant. If you are thinking “Oh it’s an acid, it might smell like a chemical”, well no. That’s wrong. It comes in a bottle, containing 59 ml.

Here is how it works / Directions to use (as listed on the labels):

Step 1 : Apply derma-crystals to clean, dry face (about the size of a quarter). Cover entire face like a mask (avoid the eye area). Gently massage for 45 seconds to 1 minute.

Step 2 : Apply the activator serum onto fingertips adding a thick layer directly over the entire derma-crystal mask. Gently massage for upto 1 minute. Rinse thoroughly with warm water, using a wash cloth for best results.

When applying the derma crystals, it feels mildly abrasive. The smell is really pleasant and soothing though. I sometimes take more than a quarter to work on my entire face and neck. I don’t press hard instead I gently spread it. Then, on adding the peel activator serum, it reacts with the derma crystals and dissolves it, along with a layer of your skin. There is a mildly warm sensation. Also, when these two products meet, a white foam is produced. It is a conditioner, released to your skin’s surface. If you wish to, you can add more serum to dissolve the crystals. It’s not harmful or anything. Though they suggest you wash your face with warm water, I did try with regular water at room temperature and the results are just the same. Immediately after using this, they suggest to apply a serum to keep your skin moisturized. I use Olay’s serum from the Total Effects range.

If by reading the last paragraph, you are skeptical or scared by the words like ‘warm’, ‘white foam’ or ‘dissolve’, let me assure you that it’s gentle!. The warm sensation, on a scale of 1 to 10, is at 1. Just a warm feeling that spreads on your skin. Dissolving a layer of your skin would mean that your skin instantly looks fresher, brighter and feels incredibly smooth because a dull layer of dead skin cells is what was dissolved off.

This product is gentle enough to be used twice a week. But you shouldn’t be overzealous and try your luck by using it more times. You might end up irritating your skin. Also this product shouldn’t be used on irritated, damaged or diseased skin (as written on the label). You should never use this along with other exfoliating products or with cleansing devices. Before, first using this on my face, I did a 1 day patch test on my hand. Though lactic acid is good, it’s natural and you can never predict how your skin will react.

My skin feels and looks incredibly soft and smooth after using this product. There is a brightness to my skin that is very much noticeable. When my family saw me after some time of being apart, they really noticed the difference.

If you are a fair person, I guarantee one thing!. Your skin will be red after using this product. My skin doesn’t turn red usually, because I have a dark skin tone. Yet, on the sides of my nose, I noticed slight redness, during the first three times I used this. But now, it doesn’t turn red anymore.

Though the tub contains only 64gm and the bottle contains only 59ml, this is an 8 week treatment. I highly doubted that it would last that long. However, surprise!. I have used this for 9 weeks now and check out how much more is left!

The one thing I don’t like is that I cannot determine how much more product is left in the bottle. When I hold it in my hand, it does feel like there is a considerable amount left. So yay!. I don’t know how many more weeks I can use this but it’s totally worth it!

The shipping was fast. Amazon shipped it via Aramex and they delivered right to my door. It took 8 days to reach me once I ordered it, which is quite good.

Price of this product is $19.19 (AED 70.48). Looks like a great price right?. Well, that’s until you know how much the shipping charge was!. It was $15.91 (AED58.48) :(. It’s so sad that the shipment charge is almost as much as the product itself. But I really wanted to try it. So that’s why I bought it and seriously, I am in love with this product. I just wish it was available locally at a lower price because I will definitely buy this again and again!. I did search on Souq.com to see if it’s listed and it was but the price was AED198!. That is AED70 more than the total Amazon price!

FYI, I just now checked and noticed that the price of this product has increased to $20.99 (AED77.10) as of right now. If you wish to place an order, click here.

So all in all, it’s freaking amazing. I love it and I highly recommend it to all.

Title: The Shadow of Wrath: Complete (Sins of the 7)
Author: L.W. Patricks
Genres: Young Adult // Dystopian
Publisher: Strange Crow Publishing
Release Date: March 13, 2013
Sample: Chapter One

In the Arena, you’re either a killer or a victim.

If survival meant murdering an innocent person in cold blood every week, could you do it? Are you able to stick the knife into your opponent’s heart while they look at you with fear in their eyes? Life in the Arena turns everyone into sinners.

A homeless boy is kidnapped from the streets and finds himself imprisoned in a far more horrifying place: the Arena, a place where teenage boys fight to the death for the pleasure of various lowlifes in a modern gladiator pit.

The Arena is the brainchild of Ryker, an ex-convict addicted to alcohol, gladiatorial-esque combats, and money. When not devising new ways for boys to kill each other, he’s ruling his small empire with a ruthless fist, rewarding his guards with sex slaves and punishing those who oppose him with barbaric executions.

Renamed Dog, the boy from the streets must turn himself into a killing machine if he is to continue surviving, but as he leaves a trail of bodies in his wake, the ghosts of slain boys haunts him and the violence threatens to wake a beast inside him.

Allegra, a slave girl in the Arena and a victim of Ryker’s constant abuse, is his only key to salvation. She has lost everything already — her family, her innocence, and her dignity — while her will to live hangs on by a thin thread. Can she save Dog’s humanity before she too succumbs to the horrors of the Arena?

Seeking to defy Ryker as Dog rises to power as his champion, the stage is set for something to give in this murderous world of young gladiators.

A tale about survival, tragedy, and human perseverance, the complete Shadow of Wrath is the first book in the Sins of the 7 series.

Fans of edgy and controversial dystopian books will love Shadow of Wrath.

About the Author

Ever since I opened that book of Fairy Tales when I was a kid, I loved reading and spent countless hours recreating a parallel universe where Red Riding Hood kung-fu kicked the wolf in the jugular and Snow White discovered a spell to merge all the dwarves together to form a Super-Dwarf that tossed the evil step-mother into the sun.

With this love for reading and writing, I took it to the next level and published a book. Sadly no super human fairy tale characters (but it’s always been on my radar).

My debut novel Shadow of Wrath is now published by Strange Crow Publications and can be found at http://www.strangecrowbooks.com/books/shadowofwrath

I am the author of SHADOW OF WRATH and the literary architect behind the upcoming Sins of the 7 series with Book One: AWAKE THE GHOSTS to be published late 2013.

So in a nutshell, what’ I’ve been telling everyone is some half baked story of how I’m the spawn of a typewriting chimp and a literary ninja and I eat Unicorns to sustain my crazy imagination. It may or may not be a cover up…but I like to leave things open for interpretation =).

My short fiction works has been published by Crow Toes Quarterly Magazine, Fiction and Verse literary magazine, and upcoming Denizens of the Dark. I enjoy writing contemporary fantasy with an emphasis on creating urban mythology for my stories.

I was born in Toronto, Ontario where I graduated from University of Toronto’s Fiction Writing course. I have travelled all over the world including Germany, Netherlands, Italy, France, Spain, Czech Republic, Austria, United Kingdom, Thailand, Hong Kong, Cambodia just to name a few. My diverse experience amongst other cultures provides inspiration for my stories.

I currently live in Toronto with my wife where I enjoys the the hot summer days and the cold winter nights.
