I’m back with another Iftar review. This was at Nando’s in Jumeirah Lakes, Dubai. It’s a really gorgeous place, with lots of greenery, beautiful landscaping and a fountain. It really has got a good vibe going there. Pair it with good food and you have got a perfect evening!
I love Nando’s. I’ve been there several times but it’s my first time being in this particular branch located in Jumeirah. Here is the Nando’s building and it’s entrance :
Late afternoon & evening pix
The interior is pretty special and has a welcoming atmosphere. The contemporary and beautiful South African art is definitely eye catching. The seating is comfy. The lights are beautiful ☺. Instant relaxation mood is set, once you enter there.
I arrived pretty early before Iftar time (since I like to get my pix when not many people are around). My 3 year old was getting restless by then. Nando’s staff are always so friendly and thoughtful. They got him crayons & a paper with pictures in it to color in. That instantly got his attention and he was doodling away with joy 😊. They also gave him a balloon.
Not part of the Iftar menu, but the staff got my son a kiddie chicken burger, fries and mildly spicy rice to keep him happy & fed. They are just so amazing!
The Nando’s Iftar will start diners off with dates and water to break the fast, followed by Hummus and pita bread, rounded off with a delicious, flame-grilled PERi-PERi full chicken, chicken Espetada, four chicken wings, served with Mediterranean salad, PERi-PERi chips, PERi-PERi wedges, spicy rice and coleslaw. This is a meal for 4 persons, at just AED 199.
They are also offering a delicious meal deal for two to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan. Diners can break their fast with water and dates, Hummus and pita bread, full chicken, PERi chips, rice and coleslaw for the extra special price of just AED 119.
Extremely yummy, melting-in-your-mouth marinated, flame-grilled chicken 😋
Espetada, which has five pretty big and filling pieces of grilled chicken.
Overall, the Iftar menu is yummy and filling. I had one issue though and I need to say it here. The restaurant was packed by Iftar time. There wasn’t a single seat that was unoccupied. I think there were 3 serving staff. Once the time came to break fast, there was such a rush to serve people.
They seemed like they were unprepared for that many people to come in. I got my food a cool 25 mins after the time to break fast 😐. But, I actually felt bad for the staff. I’m not even kidding, they were literally flying across the room trying to serve soo many people. This was a media event that I was a part of. Maybe that’s why there were so many people. But with my previous experiences at Nando’s, I’d say the wait time isn’t that much and the staff are as always friendly and attentive. Please read my review of a dinner at Nando’s. That was in Al Qasba, Sharjah, which happens to be my favorite Nando’s branch.
Nando’s always so thoughtfully gives a goodie bag when going there for a review. They never fail to surprise. This time, I got a Peri-Peri garlic sauce, a PERInaise (which is a mayonnaise) & an adorable Nando’s chicken shaped USB. Love it!. I’ve been adding the sauce and mayo to my home cooked chicken ever since. They are such a great addition to just about anything. The mayonnaise squeezy bottle has this leak proof kinda lock and it’s just so convenient & mess free to use it!.
If you love Nando’s, do check their Iftar out. The menu is designed to be pretty affordable. If you try it out, let me know how you liked it, dearies 😊
