How to : Easy Kerala style Beef curry!

Hey there,

I wanted to show you guys the ultra easy beef curry recipe that I usually do at home. I am pretty lazy when it comes to cooking.. Lol! Anything to make a dish easier. We are using pressure cooker to do this.

Usually you sauté and sauté the onion, get it brown, add spices, turn that brown enough, add more stuff such as tomatoes, chilies etc then add pressure cooked beef, to make a traditional beef curry. This basically means you are right there standing near the stove the entire time and I ain’t got time for that. If you share a similar sentiment, read on :). For this recipe, which is quite spicy, you will need these ingredients :

Beef, washed, cubed & strained- 1 kg
Onion – 4 or 5, medium sized
Tomato – 1
Green chilies – About 7 or 8 spicy ones (if the ones you have aren’t that spicy, add about 10 or 11)
Red chili powder – 1 heaped tbsp
Coriander powder – 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Black pepper powder – 4 tsp
Garam masala powder – 3 tsp
Ginger garlic paste (freshly ground or store bought) – About 4 tbsp
Curry leaves – 3 sprigs
Coconut oil – 4 tbsp
Potato (optional) – 3, medium sized
Salt – to taste


Take a pressure cooker. Put the beef in it first. Then add everything mentioned above (except potato), in no particular order, on top of the beef.

Then mix everything well by hand or using a ladle.

Pressure cook for 6 whistles (My pressure cooker is quite old and needs more whistles to get something tough like beef to be cooked. Your cooker might work in lesser whistles. So adjust accordingly).

Once pressure is gone, taste the gravy and add anything that’s lacking. Then add the potatoes and let it whistle 4 more times (enough to get the potatoes cooked while also cooking the beef completely).

Curry ready!. Mix well & serve once pressure is gone.

How to : Quick Garlic Peeling Trick!

Hi guys,

Eid is coming up. Most of you would be making a biriyani just like me. You will need lots of garlic etc for these preparations.

I will give you a super quick tip that I follow (my mom’s advice ♡) to get it’s skin off in a jiffy. Submerge the garlic pods in water for an hour. Then peel the skin and it’s like magic. It’s super easy. Definitely give it a try.
