Introduction and review: Glambox!

Hello you guys!

I am totally in love with the concept of Glambox. So, what is Glambox?. It is a subscription box filled with skincare/cosmetic products, which is delivered to you every month. Consumers like us are overwhelmed by the number of products available in the market. You might want to try out a cream but pass it up simply because it’s too expensive. But what if you got a sample of it, which helps you determine whether it works wonders for you or not?. This helps you save a lot of money by not making mistakes while purchasing such products. That is the very purpose of Glambox.

On to the review :

Let me first tell you, I fell in love with the packaging from the get go. It’s very thoughtfully done. The box itself is a pretty pink one!

When you open it, you will see a beautiful box inside. It’s simplicity is so attractive. It has a pearlescent color with the Glambox logo printed in the middle. Then further on, you will find there a pretty ribbon which ties together all the products within. I can see that great care has been taken to make sure it looks creative, neat and remains damage free (from the transportation).

Here are all the products. Oh isn’t it like unwrapping a giftbox every month? 🙂

Here is the list of products (the price indicated in the brackets against some of the products, is the price of it’s full sized version, available on Glambox’s website or generally on other online sites/in physical stores) and mini reviews (as I have been using these for nearly a month now):

  • Alien Essence Absolue (a Thierry Mugler perfume worth AED 424 for 60ml) : I love the Thierry Mugler perfume called Angel. I never knew about a perfume called Alien from this brand. All I can say is, I am a fan of it now. It’s scent is woody aromatic and sensual I felt. The sample in the box is a miniature glass bottle containing 6ml and perfect to pop into your handbag.

  • Cellular Elixir serum (by Lancaster) – This is a serum intended for youth prolongation and works against wrinkles and dull complexion. I really liked it. It gets absorbed within seconds and is easy to massage into your face. It has the slightest bit of shimmer in it. So, it gives a beautiful glow, when applied. The sample in the box is a tube containing 3ml.

  • Handmade soap (by Herbal Home Boutique) – I adore handmade soaps, because it’s an art. So, I was really glad that it was included in the box I got. The sample is good enough to use for more than  a month. It’s scent is citrus like/lemony. It’s really refreshing and lathers just the right amount. Here is the front and back of the soap.

  • Cucumber & Rose Water Skin Tonic (by Herbline Essentials, priced at AED105 for 120ml) – I really loved this toner. It comes in a bottle with a pump, which is very convenient. I will review it later in another post because I have another Herbline Essentials product to review too. Stay tuned. UPDATE (16th March 2014): Click here to read the detailed review of this tonic and Nourishment cream from Herbline Essentials. By the way, the sample in the box contains 30ml, which is a really good size.

  • Sensibio H2O (by Bioderma) – This is a makeup remover/cleanser perfect for even sensitive skin and can be used around eye area too. I have read rave reviews of this product and couldn’t believe my luck finding a 100ml bottle in this box!. That is a travel sized bottle which costs AED33 by itself. I love this product. Removing makeup is so easy with it. Even heavy makeup comes off in a jiffy. I highly recommend this one!

  • Teint Visionnaire (by Lancome) – This is a skin perfecting makeup duo which contains a high coverage precision corrector and a sheer perfecting foundation. It’s oil free. I haven’t tried this yet because I think the shade included in the box is not suitable for me. I might pass this sample to someone else!. It contains 0.14ml.

I am really happy with the products in this box. One minus I can think of about Glambox is that, though you can be absolutely delighted by the products you get, there might be a slight chance that you can equally be disappointed by some of the products. Say, if I find a nail polish in my box, I won’t really be happy because I don’t wear nail polish ever. But other than that, Glambox is an amazing concept. Also have you seen the list of brands they have partnered with?. With such an array of stunning brands, you will always have something special to look forward to!
