Review : Glow Radiance Defy powder!

Hi guys,

It’s my first time trying a Collagen & Hyaluronic Acid food supplement. Collagen as you might already know, makes the skin more elastic and youthful, while Hyaluronic Acid helps the skin retain moisture, thus keeping it hydrated.

Glow Radiance’s Defy powder contains 5000mg of hydrolized collagen, which is pretty concentrated and 50mg of Sodium Hyaluronate in each serving. Serving size is 1 scoop, which comes along with the powder. I was pretty excited trying this product since it’s being ingested and hence works on a cell level. Surely there are many products out there which can be applied topically. Ofcourse they do work well but the Defy powder is superior since it’s a food supplement that has a fast absorption.

Glow Radiance defy

This powder comes in a tin and contains 200 gms. It’s a 40 days supply. I waited until I completed the entire course before doing this review, so that I can write a thorough one. The result is amazing!. My skin looks really great and I even got many compliments on my hydrated, moisturised skin. Since many know that I keep trying new creams and such, the common question was ‘Which cream are you using currently?’. Lol!.

Glow Radiance Defy powder

The powder is cream in color, has a strange smell and tastes pleasant. It’s an umami taste. To use it, simply dissolve a scoop of powder in a glass of water after meal once daily. It contains no sugar, salt, starch, yeast, milk, egg, shellfish, preservatives, artificial flavors or color & is made in France.

My skin looks plumped, youthful, more supple and as if there is an inner glow. Glow Radiance’s motto itself is ‘Boost beauty from within’ which I think is really apt. It was during the third week that I started noticing an overall smooth effect. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wishes to defy age itself (i.e. to an extent).

One thing I found a bit disappointing was that I thought it would diminish my smile lines which are a bit deep, since I smile a lot :D. But it didnt affect it at all. My eye area looks better though and I feel the fine lines there have softened. It also helps in keeping more lines at bay.

Price : AED 270 for a 200 gms tin

Definitely a product worth checking out if you are into an anti-aging skincare routine, just like me. Click here to buy.

Review : February 2016 Glambox!

Hey guys,

Though late, here are my thoughts on February’s Glambox 🙂

February 2016 Glambox

It contained the following products :

1) Hair & Beauty by Edge Hand-tied False Eye Lashes – Everytime I have received false eyelashes for review or as gift, I have passed it on to others, because I don’t wear it. This time though these lashes looked soo amazing, that I decided to try it on. It felt very foreign on my eyelids but it looked really pretty. These are hand tied lashes and looks high quality. It’s light weight. This is the ‘Rockstar’ variant. It has a natural, fluttery-lashes finish. This pack doesn’t come with a glue though. I had to get one and since I couldn’t get an eyelash glue itself easily, I ended up getting and using a Bindi gum. It worked just fine. I have worn it 3 times so far. The below pic is when I wore it for a special occasion.

Hand tied lashes

False eyelashes

Just in case you are wondering, I’m wearing Fresh Look Color Blends Pure Hazel contact lenses.

After each use, I cleaned the band using a makeup remover so that all traces of glue are gone. Then I stored it in the same packaging that it came in, so that it retains it’s shape and I can reuse it. If you take good care, a set of lashes, particularly one that’s this high quality, can be reused several times. Even though the resulting look is pretty and feminine, I do find the application of false eyelashes quite cumbersome. Lol!. Those who know how to apply it fast and easily, well, lucky them!

2) Derma E Hydrating Night Crème – I was super excited seeing this product in the box, because I had almost bought this online once but then decided not to get it. However, having tried this from the Glambox, I freaking love it, and next time I need a night cream, I am going to get a full sized one.

Derma e Hydrating Night Creme

This is a cream colored, light weight cream. It smells just like bubblegum and is so wonderfully pleasant. It gets absorbed fast into the skin and is really hydrating. This is a crueltyfree, vegan, paraben free and gluten free product.

3 & 4) Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel & Aloe Bha Skin Toner – These are some Asian skincare samples from the brand Benton. The first one is a 5 ml sample of Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel, that contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice 80% and Propolis Extract 10%. It’s a transparent gel that feels so soothing on the skin. I used it as the final step (as a moisturizer) in my skincare routine. It’s supposed to be unscented however I did find that it had a light, peculiar scent. It has a light and non sticky application.

Benton Aloe

Second one is the Aloe BHA 0.5 Skin toner – This is such a fantastic toner. I got only about 6 uses from the little sample bottle, but even from the very first use I found that even though it’s gentle, it even removes any traces of impurities or makeup that the cleanser might have missed out on. ‘Gentle but pretty powerful’ is how I wish to describe this product. It looks and feels just like water. I disliked it’s smell though. It feels like smelling chemicals. Other than that, it’s an awesome product. Loved it!

5) Atelier Cologne Oud Saphir sample – Oh!. This is probably one of the best Oud perfumes that I have ever tried out. It’s not overpowering at all yet lingers on the skin for a long while. I got 2 samples along with two pretty post cards.

Review : GlowRadiance Micellar Water!

I am quite excited about this product that I am reviewing today. It’s GlowRadiance’s Micellar Water (pronounced as my-cellar). It is a light weight, efficient cleansing water that removes impurities and all traces of makeup from your face easily.

GlowRadiance Micellar Water

It looks just like water but is a gentle, yet powerful cleanser. What I love the most is that it’s a non rinse formula!. Super convenient ♡. It’s also alcohol free, oil free and soap free.

This product can be used on eyes and lips too. It does sting a bit if you manage to get it in your eye, like I once did. So, be careful when applying on the eye area. It leaves skin feeling really refreshed, soft and decongested. In order to use it, soak a cotton pad with it and apply on your face. After that, simply follow it up with your toner and then rest of your skincare regimen. I highly recommend you try out this micellar water.

It’s packaged in a tall, pretty, transparent bottle with a golden lid. Most of what’s written on the bottle about the product, is in golden font which just enhances the rich feel of the brand. I have been using this for almost a month now and judging by the amount I have used up, I have a feeling that this bottle will last for about 4 – 5 months, which is really great!.

Price : AED 95 for a bottle containing 200ml.

GlowRadiance is a relatively new brand here in UAE. It is a high-end brand for skin and health supplements, that consists of a collection of lavish treatments for the face and body. All their products are medicated and available in pharmacies and online (www.basharashop.com).

Review : January 2016 Glambox!

Hiya people,

Though late, here are my thoughts about January’s Glambox 2016. First of all, what a delight finding majority of skincare products in here!. I feel Glambox is concentrating more on skincare rather than makeup and I definitely support and appreciate that. When you have gorgeous skin, you will need only the slightest amount of makeup and also it will apply more easily on smooth skin. That’s what I believe any way.

January Glambox

Onto the products in detail,

1) Eucerin Even Brighter Pigment Reducing Concentrate – I literally yelped seeing this advanced skincare product in the box. It’s supposed to reduce pigmentation, even the skin tone and overall make it brighter. It contains concentrated B-Resorcinol & Glycyrrhetinic Acid, which helps protect against the production of melanin and supports skin cells’ repair of damage induced by prematurely ageing UV-Sunlight, respectively.

Eucerin Even Brighter Concentrate

There are 6 little tubes, each containing 5 ml, neatly arranged into a gorgeous plastic display box. Each vial lasts 1 week, used twice a day. I kind of had a doubt that 5 ml will last that long. But it did last me 7 – 8 days. I have finished all 6 of them and waited around to do this post so that I can completely try it out and voice my opinion about it.

It’s white in color, has a light scent and has the consistency of a serum that gets absorbed really fast into the skin. Within 4 weeks, my skin looked much better, definitely brighter and more even toned. You should be using the product right after toner and before applying a face oil. I really love this product. This 6 weeks product supply is worth about AED 167 and it’s amazing that I could try it out through Glambox. This also happens to be the first ever Eucerin product that I have tried.

2) Three Maxon samples from their Hydramax skincare range, that promises to deliver more hydration. Maxon is a Canadian brand that’s now available in UAE.

Maxon Hydramax

● Cream – Such a gorgeous cream, that can be used both in morning and night. It intensely hydrates skin and I really love it. The sample came in a 7 ml tube and has a thick consistency.

● Foaming Gel – This is an OK product. Does a good job of what it’s supposed to do, that is, cleanse the skin. It lathers well, has a transparent look, thick consistency and a nice scent. I have a feeling that this would be really suitable for oily skin tone rather than my skin type (normal, leaning towards dry). The sample came in a 7 ml tube.

● Cleansing Tonic – This is such a dream product, absolutely priceless. Since it’s watery, I can’t help but think of Bioderma’s SensiBio cleanser and compare it with this one. Maxon would definitely win a showdown between these 2 products!.

Maxon Cleansing Tonic

It’s transparent with a blue suspension on top of it. I give it a good shake, pour a bit onto a cotton pad and cleanse my skin. Even with one swipe, it removes a great amount of makeup and impurities, all the while being absolutely gentle on the skin. It leaves skin looking dewy. It’s definitely a fantastic product that I would buy a full size of, at the next chance I get to go shopping!. The sample came in a 30 ml bottle. This is the main reason I love Glambox. It introduces us to wonderful products like these.

3) Delicca Powder Face Wash – It’s my first time coming across such a product. It’s a yellow powder that needs to be mixed with water and used on the face. It smells so beautiful, exactly like the Papaya facial I usually get at beauty parlour, even though there is no papaya in this product!. It cleans skin well and leaves it looking healthy, soft and fresh, without stripping it of moisture. It is sulphate free. This is a full sized product containing 40 gms. Even though I liked it much, I don’t understand the convenience of such a product, since you need to mix it with water first and such, before application.

Delicca

4) DMGM Smoky Desire XS Eyeliner – First time hearing about this brand. I got this in the color ‘Nude Beige’. Personally, I don’t care much for this color. I don’t think it suits Indian skin tone. I used it to highlight above and underneath my brow bone. I don’t do my brows. But I do thread it. So, using this as a highlighter really gives prominence to the brows. The color payoff is good and it does have staying power. The most common use for it is to use it on the waterline to get an ‘awake’ look. But am not much into that. Anyways, I did like the product itself, just wish it was black in color :P.
