Hi friends!
I love visiting museums. So That You Might Know Each Other is an exhibition happening at Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization. It started on March 19th and will go on until June 14th, 2014. I attended this exhibition in April 2014 but got around to doing a post about it only now!
This exhibition is about the World of Islam from North Africa to China and Beyond. All the displays were so beautiful and from a whole different era. Here are several pictures I have clicked:
The beautiful Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization
A poster about the event
This is actually a painting!
A beautiful display
A distillation equipment, for the production of rosewater!. How cool is it!
The working of the distillation equipment explained
There are working models which show the simple lives the people from the past led!
A beautiful display
These are grenades!. They were filled with chemicals back then to destroy things
A beautiful painting
Qur’ans of all sizes!
The blessed Kiswah, the cloth that covers the Kaa’ba in Mecca!. It’s stunning..
The Black Stone
A sword handle crafted out of ivory. Just beautiful!
Beautiful pots
I love this miniature creation
Beautiful calligraphy. To think this was handwritten by someone thousands of years ago. It’s chilling!
An entire Qur’an that’s handwritten
A Turkoman Gem-cut gilt necklace from 1613 AD. It’s so much more beautiful in real life. I couldn’t really capture it’s beauty in this photo.
An entire row of coins. There are magnifying glasses attached to the displays so that you can take a closer look. Some are made of pure gold!
A soldier’s armor
View from the first floor of the museum. It’s gorgeous!
The ceiling has celestial formations and such. It’s so pretty ♥
I spent about two and a half hours there. There is a whole lot of things you can see there. They even have a souvenir shop. The entry fee is AED 5 per person. I urge you to go and visit this exhibition.
I hope you liked this post ????
Love,
Naz ♥
